Jed Rees estudió música durante dos años en la universidad antes de transferirse a la Administración de Empresas bajo la idea errónea de que le enseñaría a ganar dinero. Durante su último año en la escuela, descubrió la actuación y se trasladó a Nueva York, donde estudió teatro durante dos años. María es su novia.
