The British thing was more of a nod towards Wren's character originally. Look on my instagram account... WrenKingston_a It basically proves Alex was never part of the shows original plan. I strictly use clues dating back from season 1 to season 7. Everything British, tea, bird clues, medical clues was all Wren. So to answer your original question on why the twin is British. Is bc they could not undo Wren's clues except transfer some of them onto Alex and Rollins. They had a difficult time getting Julian Morris back bc of schedule conflicts. Please check my page out.....it will change your thoughts on toward the show.

Marlene likes the paranormal, as do I. I mean, so far, the beginning of the show will establish the mystery and set it off as a teen drama but I hope some supernatural stuff comes later if it's successful. Sort of what is happening with Riverdale.
I do understand what you mean about keeping supernatural elements out of a show that's based on realism. I sort of agree with that. Fiction vs non fiction. I think that's where PLL went wrong/ struggled in their storylines. Now in any story you can create your own world but you have to follow the certain limitations you create. In PLL it was as if they didn't stick with the boundaries they themselves created. My biggest problem was timelines and the lore such as the importance of the NAT club and Bethany Young for it to amount to nothing in the end. Alex's character in general (personally for me) did not fit into the story. Season 7 seemed like a whole different show after the series finale aired. I rewatched the series and still had questions that season 7 didn't do justice. When you compare seasons 1-6 to season 7 it screwed with my thought process. I think had A been someone we knew like Wren, Ezra or Jason I could concur. Speaking of fantasy the masks for instance in season 7... ughhh In the earlier seasons baby doll masks etc were actually quit creepy/scary. But then in season 7 people started wearing "real faces" I didn't like that bc how am I suppose to guess a real person's face is a mask, when its actually a real person's face with no prosthetics ... Another thing is how many unwanted hidden children is there in Rosewood?? Charlotte, Mary and Alex all 3 being unwanted children, all three jealous and all 3 seeking revenge was a bit much. Just seems each having a slightly different motive would of been a better idea. But honestly 3 people hidden from existence seems pretty unbelievable in this day in age/technology. I mean 1 was enough not 3. Plus I had a hard time believing Alex had the capability of pulling it off. Living in London her whole life and being a bar wench to all of a sudden knowing the tunnels of Rosewood, high tech savy (smarter than Caleb?? eye roll) and the medical stuff.....Sorry I give credit where its due. That goes to Wren and Lucas not Alex. I liked the idea of the Mrs.Grundwald and Ravenswood etc. But when she and the psychic boy predicted the man that wanted to hurt Alison (the guy and girl with dark hair etc) They needed to stick with that. They created their own lore and needed to follow those guide lines etc. If It had been Wren/Melissa or Ezra etc. I would be like oh cool it was predicted long ago and was correct. Then I would be ok with the mixture of realism and fantasy. BC between Wren, Ezra or Melissa they had the money and intelligence to pull it off. Plus they knew the girls and the town. But bc PLL didn't follow there's timelines and lore I quickly became disappointed in season 7. If I knew for a fact in season 7 it Lucas/Caleb with the boardgame and Wren with the pregnancy and all the other medical stuff since season 1 then once again I could be ok with this. But you have to becareful picking and choosing when you throw fiction/ supernatural elements to a show based on realism.

I agree. I wish the writers would of touched on the subject.
I think the ultimate problem here was it wasn't just about her accent. It was how she delivered her lines. It was comical in a sense, like she was trying to be sarcastic/humorous. I wanted to be scared of AD a character we as an audience thought we knew. Or a character we actually knew. But I think during her reveal scene I was sitting there just trying to make sense of a new character and so her accent was the least of my worries in that moment. But when I watched 7x20 again and processed what the hell had just happened I realized how many storylines were completely dropped and how I got no real answers. So it made Alex's character even more of a nuisance in my mind with her comical approach to the character. I didn't mind the twin approach if said twin were Bethany Young. I had so many questions like clearly she didn't make the board game Lucas did....or how she knew the town and tunnels etc being she lived in London basically all her life. Plus her IQ level as a bar tender and her weird fetish for Aria. Ughhh sorry I'm just irritated.
I believe there was two A's in the hospital scene. One was Shana, the other followed Alison out of the hospital and was met by a bunch of decoys. The main goals was to single out Alison and seperate her from the pack but Shana's goal was different. She loved Jenna and hated Ali and the girls for what happened to Jenna. The person who was in the lab coat shedded their labcoat and ended up following Alison out of the hospital. Now keep in mind the one that went after Alison was pepper sprayed in the face. Which when Shana confronted the girls her face was fine and not to mention she had hung out in the hospital watching over Aria. Something else to consider on why there was 2 A's in that scene "A" wanted to Shana to leave Rosewood and to never come back. (4x18) We know this bc A knocked out Shana and she woke up in her car in front of the Rosewood sign. Asking her to leave and never come back. A was using Shana that night. But I don't think at that point Marlene had everything planned out as far as the show's future. So who the second hoodie is up to interpretation. I do think its possible one of the black hoodies was Wren, Charlotte or Lucas. You have to remember at the time Charlotte, Wren and Melissa were fleeing the country. Charlotte was wanted for the murder of Wilden, Wren was in connection to Charlotte for letting her loose on the town and letting Spencer loose to kidnap Malcolm. Melissa technically killed Bethany Young. Toby found papers that Wren was going to back to the UK and Shana was helping him move. Shana had answered Wren's ad in the paper. But when she told him she went to Rosewood High. He asked her to be "discreet". After Emily had demanded answers from Shana. Shana divulged in her helping Wren and how he was in a hurry. But it didn't go without consequences. Why would A care if Wren moved or not. Or if the girls knew he was moving???? BC he is huge A team member. Him, Charlotte and Mona played together (check 4x10).
Amandagirv wrote: Too bad it wasn't Wren lol... which.... it should've been because this is all pretty accurate. Can you believe how much theorizing happened??? Only for it to be an evil twin.
Oh I know! Theorizing was the best part. I would of been ok if the twin were "Bethany" a character we heard of before but never seen her face and Uber A a character from the beginning of the series so we could look back and say oh wow the clues were accurate. Its hard for me to rewatch the series bc I cant unknow what I know to be clues.
Even though I know it was Ezra. I always found this to be fishy.
Aria being A was a top theory of mine and Wren as her accomplice or vice versa for the same reasons stated above. Aria having a crazy Uncle (Wren's dad was crazy) and Aria had a Aunt that talked to her dead stuffed cat, her pig and doll fetish, her photography skills, Ezra's type writer, Ezra's cabin that Aria said was her "Uncles" (Ezra watched the cabin for a friend that travels "Wren") the fact that A started after the girls when Aria returned home from a year abroad. A always took it easier on Aria compared to the other girls....of course there was Bethany's pictures that resembled the Montgomery's home (the one with the little boy being taken away from the running girl).....the twin girls in Byron's photo album......Aria and her constant leopard attire, Aria's advance knowledge of computers/technology says "Caleb taught her"....(Melissa "a leopard doesn't change its spots"), When Aria tried on the red coat and last but not least when Aria ordered a cheeseburger in the pilot but she's a vegetarian.
