Season 1[]

On August 20th, Davie Adams has dinner with her pregnant teen daughter, Imogen Adams, in their quaint home in Millwood, Pennsylvania. What begins as a normal evening turns peculiar when Karen Beasley unexpectedly arrives. Karen gives Davie a letter that was left out front, which is addressed to DAVIE. Davie opens the letter to find a flyer for the rave that occurred 22 years prior, to her utter shock. Imogen notices her mother’s discomfort, but Davie brushes it off and tells the girls to head upstairs. As they leave, Davie flips the flyer and reads the message:

“GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. YOU CAN’T IGNORE THE PAST FOREVER. THE COUNTDOWN IS ON.”

Davie flashes back to that night. Meanwhile, upstairs Imogen and Karen argue in her bedroom about whether or not Imogen actually kissed Greg before Karen angrily tries to leave. The hallway is puddled, and they follow the trail to the bathroom, as Imogen calls out for her mother, who doesn't respond. She pushes the door open, taking in what’s in front of her: Davie, dead in a tub overflowing with bloody water, the letter “A” drawn in red ichor on the wall. Karen screams in horror as Imogen gasps.

A month later on September 28th, Tabby and Imogen have to drop off the house key for upcoming walkthrough. Imogen can't bring herself to walk up the steps to the house, so Tabby takes the key and places it under the front mat for her. As they walk away, an ominous figure watches them from the window.

By the end of the day, Imogen grabs the confidence to enter her house, approaching her mother’s bedroom and reminiscing as she finds a picture of her sonogram. She begins to tear up but notices the rave flier underneath a magazine.[1]

Imogen and her friends visit the Adams house to get the cell phone that contains an incriminating video of Karen Beasley. Tabby, Minnie, Faran, and Noa wait at the bottom of the stairs for Imogen. Tabby's mom is a real estate agent who says terrible things happen in most houses. But this is an Amityville level of weird. She's getting Poltergeist vibes. She calls up to Imogen, who doesn't respond. Noa suggests one of them going up there, with Faran telling her she should. Imogen appears from beside them, jump-scaring the girls. She has the phone and the charger. Minnie suggests doing that in a more public setting.[2]

A few days later, the mothers gather at the Adams house, where Corey sarcastically starts the table talk with no one will win the mother of the year award. Marjorie jokes the situation is dire if the great Corey Bryant comes back to town. Elodie remarks that being in Davie’s house feels wrong, and it is too big of a coincidence their daughters are all involved. Corey is unsurprised as the town and school are small, but agrees they need to support their children through the disciplinary meeting. Sidney adds that the boy, Tyler, should be held accountable and she has his phone. She and Corey discuss logistics on how to approach the principal and sheriff.[3]

Imogen goes to her old house in early October. She remembers entering the home with Davie for the first time, eagerly learning that it's all theirs. They happily run upstairs together. Now, Imogen hears a rustling in the basement. She grabs a flashlight from the wall and calls out for anyone who could be there. She begins descending the basement stairs, unaware that A is hiding behind the steps. She looks around the basement and finds a bin of old dolls. She starts to sift through them when she hears commotion outside. She leaves and A emerges from behind the wall. Imogen goes outside to find a happy couple taking pictures in front of the house. They just put an offer on the house and are taking photos to send to his folks. She bluntly says this is still her house. She asks if the real estate agent told them what happened in it.

That night, Sidney confronts Imogen for telling the buyers that a woman was murdered there. Imogen hates the idea of strangers living in her house. Sidney congratulates her as now the buyers are pulling out. Imogen glibly remarks that it wasn't meant to be. Sidney wanted to spare her the truth, but Davie was in a lot of debt and the sale from the house would have covered what she owed. Don Thompson also called her as Imogen's been calling about Angela Waters. Imogen thinks there's a connection between Angela and her mom, which Sidney isn't telling them about. Sidney thinks she's looking for things that aren't there. Imogen counters that she's looking for something Sidney doesn't want her to find. It's harder for Imogen to move on because her mom is dead. Sidney bluntly tells her that she needs to move on, and the house needs to be sold, so she better pick out what she wants to save.

After school a few days later, the Little Liars gather at Imogen's house to make contact with the spirit of Davie Leigh Adams, her mom. They put their hands on the planchette. Imogen wants to know if Davie is okay or at peace. The planchette moves to say yes. The Little Liars deny moving it. Imogen demands they take their hands off. She asks what happened to her mom. She wonders if she died alone or if there was someone else with her, or if it had to do with Angela. She needs to know as there has to be an explanation. She asks why Davie would leave her. If she really did kill herself out of guilt then she had to have known that Imogen would find her in the tub and deal with all this bullshit, alone. The planchette doesn't move. Imogen can't believe Davie has nothing to say after all she put her through. Davie abandoned her and she has no one or nothing. She wants her to say something. It is the least she can do. Tabby tries to stop Imogen, but Faran calmly tells Tabby to let her work it out. Imogen takes a breath and screams out “fuck you” and that she hates her. She's glad the house is selling because she doesn't want to think about her anymore. She asks her friends if they can please get the fuck out of there. Tabby agrees but tells Imogen she's wrong about having no one. Mouse takes her hand - she has them. They all join hands and assure that she has all of them. They're here for her. Tabby, quoting Chucky, says they're friends until the end. They have a group hug.[4]

Season 2[]

A prospective long renter finally puts on offer on Imogen's house, and Sidney shares the good news with her client. She gave the renter a tour and found the kitchen cabinet full of gifts for the baby Imogen gave up for adoption. She gently, yet firmly, tells Imogen she has to let go.[5]

Over a month later, Imogen learns the renter is Our Mother of Holy Grace who hid behind an LLC so they could rent the house for their production of Redemption House. The event is really a Hell House that depicts events in problematic ways where the participants are labeled sinners with their only hope for redemption at the church. Imogen and Faran stand outside her old house to look at the decorations - the house is completely transformed in religious iconography. They have an argument with Kelly from across the street about her involvement in the production.

Imogen goes to work and opens up to her new boyfriend Johnny about the play taking part in her house. Johnny clarifies the house is up for sale and was going to be rented at some point. She’s aware of that but didn't expect it to be rented by Kelly's fire and brimstone cult after everything Kelly knows happened there. Johnny questions her statement and Imogen explains she left out the part about finding her mom after she killed herself. This shocks Johnny who turns his full attention to her. Kelly knew that because her twin sister was with her when it happened at her house. Even after she moved in with the Haworthe's all she could think was who would clean up the bathtub. Imogen, through tears, chokes out that a few days later, she snuck back into her house and all the blood was still there. It was dried, caked, and everywhere. So she turned on the water and scrubbed every square inch of the tub and the tiling. She even cleaned up the bloody A that Davie left on the wall in her own blood. The look on Davie's face is burned into Imogen's brain forever. That will haunt her for the rest of her life and Kelly knows that. Kelly knows that Imogen's mom died in that house. Kelly knows that Imogen almost died in that house. Johnny is so sorry and holds her.

Kelly practices her warmups when Greg comes back to talk about the rooms being a little fucked up. She tells him to get to his mark. The townspeople are abuzz over the project with the admission line going out the door.

They enter the house while trying to figure out what to expect. Imogen leads them past a sign that says "Salvation Lies Ahead". The first room depicts a devil messaging a little girl online, who asks what she should wear to meet him and he wants options. Mouse flashes back to her predatory conversations with Steve, where he also asks for options. She runs out of the room and into another, which is set up like a laboratory. The girls try to comfort Mouse but the sight of teens getting high triggers Noa to remember her mom's drug dealer in their apartment. She runs out which leads to another room where a party is being held. Girls are drinking heavily and it triggers Imogen to remember Karen's party. Tabby is triggered to the party in the woods, especially at the sight of a guy carrying a passed out girl. Imogen and Tabby hold hands and everyone leaves the room. In another are two football players looking at dirty magazines. Fake flames are projected behind them. This angers Faran who realizes this is supposed to depict closeted gay kids who are going to hell for looking at pornography. She snaps that Henry, who is playing one of the boys, is a dancer so most of his friends are gay. She demands if Greg actually believes this homophobic bullshit. Both boys are silent as Faran tells both of them to get their heads examined. Imogen enters the hallway where the bathroom lights flicker. She takes Tabby's hand and ignores the room to walk away. They enter a new one which used to be Davie's. In the bed is Kelly whose arms are cut. She cries out that she shouldn't have done this to herself and begs the grim reaper not to take her to hell. She begs him to spare her. Imogen starts to hyperventilate and violently shake. She tells her friends to get her out of there and they help her exit the house.

The girls surround Imogen on the front lawn. The girl is still shaking and in shock. She sees an ax in a tree stump. The girls shout at her to stop as she swings it into the fuse box. It explodes in sparks and the house goes dark. She heaves this isn't happening in her fucking house.

Pastor Malachi goes to the basement to inspect the fuse box when he finds Bloody Rose waiting. He asks who she's supposed to be - a protestor trying to disrupt their good work. He won't be scared by her costume. It's nothing compared to the terrors of eternal damnation. In fact, he offers to give her a personal tour. She pulls out a knife and stabs him in the forehead. She grabs him by the ankles and drags him away.

The next night, the girls and their boyfriends raid Redemption House in demon masks. The guys will be outside recording it all. The girls run to the house and sneak in through the cellar. Imogen calls dibs on scaring Kelly. Mouse is ready to work out some issues. They put on the masks and start their reign of terror. As the others destroy rooms and scare patrons, Imogen stalks upstairs and pulls back the curtains around the bed. She finds a letter from Bloody Rose - "SOMETIMES A FINAL GIRL DOESN'T GET A WARNING CALL." Bloody Rose slams the bedroom door and holds up a knife, attacking Imogen. She endures her final girl test that night and barely makes it out alive by seemingly clawing off Bloody Rose's mask.[6]
