Desjardin is a Track and Field instructor at Millwood High School and has been teaching students there.

Desjardin is an attentive coach who enjoys helping students. She sees the potential in Noa to become a stronger athlete.

Noa runs on the track giving it her all. She stops in front of Coach Desjardin, requesting complete honesty that she's weak and slow. Coach agrees that she's out of practice, but they'll get her back in fighting shape.[1]
On a school day, Coach Desjardin calls Noa into her office. Sandy Quinn fractured her foot during an indoor trial and her spot is Noa's if she wants it. Noa is happy and does want it, appreciating her thinking of her, but has too much going on at home right not to commit. She can run during the Spring semester. Coach is visibly upset by the news.
At the production of “Swan Lake”, Noa finds Coach Desjardin and asks if she can still join the track team as soon as possible. Coach offers tomorrow morning at 5:30, and Noa agrees to be there.[2]
Noa does sprints in track practice, falling behind rather quickly. Coach Desjardin asks how her diet has been, which hasn't been great. She's been eating a lot of pepperoni. Coach D suggests a trainer who can get her where she wants to be. The next day, she runs on a treadmill for the trainer Coach D recommended. He tells her that she has cardiovascular shortcomings and gives her an inhaler. She protests as she doesn't have asthma, but he insists that one puff before practice will make a difference.[3]
