Elodie Honrada is a main character in first season and recurring character in the second season of the television series, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin on Max. She is portrayed by Lea Salonga and Emily Bautista.

Elodie is the mother of Minnie. A bit overbearing, Elodie works overtime to keep her daughter safe following a trauma that occurred when Minnie was just a little girl. As a teenager, Elodie was part of a gang led by Davie Adams.

Biography[]

Elodie was born and raised in Millwood, Pennsylvania. She was a popular and beautiful teenager who hung out with the coolest girls in school, including Davie Adams, Corey Bryant, Marjorie Olivar, and Sidney Haworthe. They "adopted" the town outcast Angela Waters into their friend group, turning her from a loser to a popular girl.

Personality[]

In 1999 as high school senior, like her best friends, she was a "bully" who tormented the outcasts and marginalized people, without knowing the serious damage she was doing.

After Angela's suicide, she was traumatized and realizing the wrong she did.

As an adult, she has changed, leaving her mean girl attitudes behind in the past. Now, much of Elodie's personality is reflective of Mouse's near-abduction at the age of five. The close call, at the hands of Mouse's biological father, put Elodie in a state of hyper-vigilance and constant anxiety when Mouse isn't near her.

Physical Appearance[]

Elodie is an adult woman with Asian ethnicity. She has short black hair and dark brown eyes.

Series[]

Season 1[]

1999[]

On October 31, 1999, the group of girls run amok and destroy pumpkins for Halloween. In front of a house, Angela Waters is handed a bag of dog feces and instructed to throw it at the front door, part of so-called “initiation”. She’s concerned about being seen, but Davie Adams assures her they got her back as she is handed a pumpkin to put over her head as a disguise. The girls laugh at her weak refusal. Nonetheless, Angela forces herself to do as she’s told, but the girls drive off and mockingly wave goodbye. Angela is left at the curbside breathing hard as the owner of the vandalized house yells out to the assailant.[3]

During the Millwood Fall Carnival, Elodie and Angela enter the Hall of Mirrors, hand in hand. The pair stops, with Elodie telling Angela they're alone. They start kissing until Davie then walks in and, as a way to divert from Elodie's feelings for Angela, Elodie lies and says that Angela started attacking her. Davie snaps that Angela shouldn't think about coming onto her. She proceeds to call Angela, Xena. Elodie and Davie then leave, with Angela staring at one of the mirrors.[4]

OS101 SC203

On Y2K night, a tear-stricken Angela calls out for Sidney Haworthe and Davie Adams outside a warehouse currently blasting with music for the Y2K celebration. Angela Waters stumbles inside, begging for help to no one’s bother. She finds Sidney and drops to her knees in the middle of the crowd. Through her sobs, she begs Sidney to look at her. Elodie also turns her back to Angela. Davie, however, angrily mutters to Sidney that they’ve talked about this already, forcing a conflicted Sidney to join her other friends. Devastated, Angela looks around in pain and notices a ladder nearby. She decided to climb. The rave continues in full swing, and as the countdown begins partygoers suddenly take notice of a silhouette up above. The DJ cuts the music, allowing Angela to scream out to the girls below if they finally see her. Davie yells at her to stop, but Angela raised her arms and steps forward. The crowds disperse with screams of terror, though only five girls stay still. They force themselves to look upon the bloody, gruesome scene before them; Angela’s broken, dead body.[5]

Elodie and her friends head to Pinball Pizza after the dance. Sidney bemoans how Angela was in trouble and they ignored her. Davie assures her it wasn’t her fault - Angela was a messed-up girl. Elodie is shocked that everyone left quickly, though Corey snaps what else they were supposed to do. Marjorie asks if they should call an ambulance, but Davie reiterates it is not their fault and someone will find Angela. Sidney probes what happens they if do.[6]

2022[]

Elodie checks on her teen daughter Mouse and finds her chatting with a boy from school on Discord. Elodie doesn’t like seeing her spend so much time online and warns her there are bad people online, though Mouse is too overjoyed to ponder her mother’s words.[5]

OS103 Elodie Still

A few days later, Mouse comes home to her moms who reprimand her for responding to their urgent call with a text. Elodie asks why the school thinks she put a dead rat in another girl's bag.[7] As punishment for getting into such trouble at school, including her involvement in leaking a scathing video of Karen Beasley, Elodie confiscates all of Mouse's electronics.

The next morning, the mothers gather at the Adams house, where Corey sarcastically starts the table talk with no one will win the mother of the year award. Marjorie jokes the situation is dire if the great Corey Bryant comes back to town. Elodie remarks that being in Davie’s house feels wrong, and it is too big of a coincidence their daughters are all involved. Corey is unsurprised as the town and school are small, but agrees they need to support their children through the disciplinary meeting. Sidney adds that the boy, Tyler, should be held accountable and she has his phone. She and Corey discuss logistics on how to approach the principal and sheriff.

The hearing to determine Mouse and her friends hearing happens on Friday. The girls and their respective guardians gather in a classroom, Corey advising them to keep quiet and let her do the talking. Principal Clanton arrives, announcing the disciplinary hearing was postponed. He says Kelly Beasley came to him to admit Karen was in the rafters with the intent to harm Imogen and provided evidence. Imogen asks if it was the bucket put the principal refuses to say. He declares the death to be accidental. Sidney asks what it means for their daughters. Principal Clanton says expulsion is no longer an option, but other options are still on in the table.

The relieved mothers dine in joy, happy to accept community service or detention as the verdict and look at their daughters’ table, calling them good girls while remarking they’re sitting at their old booth. Sidney reveals to the women that Imogen said Davie received a flyer of the party in the mail, and that the girls know about Angela. They are shocked, but Sidney assures them she told what everyone assumes to be the truth. The women are once again alleviated but wonder who sent Davie the flyer. Corey believes the incident to be a one-time thing.

Back at the Honrada house, Mouse collapses in her bed, tired. Elodie knocks at her open door, delving some of her electronics and reminding her she’ll get them all back once detention is over. She explains to her daughter she can’t go through all that again, and Mouse assures her she won’t.[6]

Things settle in the Honrada household. The evening before Halloween, Mouse unexpectedly declares her date at the dinner table. Elodie asks who Ash is and when the party is. She gives her permission but sets her curfew at 9:30. Shirley, however raises it to 10:30 PM.[3]

Elodie searches through her mail at Honrada Pawn, coming across an envelope with her name, Elodie HonrAda, written on the front. When she opens it, she finds a flyer for the 1999 Millwood Fall Carnival. She turns it over to read the message, “MEET ME IN THE HALL OF MIRRORS”. She remembers her tryst there with Angela in 1999, which makes her tearfully tear up the flier.

Mouse tells Ash about the day she was almost kidnapped by an unknown man at the 2012 carnival. She was five-years-old and got separated from her moms outside the Funhouse. A man came up to her, offered her cotton candy, and led her away. She wasn't scared until she saw her moms with a security guard. Elodie screamed out for her daughter and the man ran away. He was a stranger who was never caught. Now, every year they rent a cabin and leave Millwood over carnival weekend.

Mouse's "relationship" with Steve Bowers reaches critical levels as the danger of his obsession becomes real for her. She threatens to dox him, but he knows her mom Elodie as they're in a support group in Summerville for parents who have lost their children. She showed the group a picture once and when she popped up on his screen he recognized her. She wasn't taken and wonders why Elodie said she was. The group meets every other Tuesday, which is impossible as Elodie has her book club on Tuesdays. She begins to realize the truth. She gets a message from A warning that the man who tried to take her WASN'T a stranger, after all.

Once home, Mouse asks Elodie's a series of questions about her book club, learning that it's just for adults. Mouse tells her about her date with Ash to the carnival and her plans to go. The cabin is already booked, so Mouse tells her to take mom and go. She'll go to the carnival with Ash and her friends and everything will be fine. Elodie worries that he'll be there, the man who tried to take her. If he's a stranger like she said then he's long gone and there's nothing to worry about.

The next morning, Mouse greets Shirley who tells her that Elodie has gone for a walk after canceling their trip to the mountains. Mouse sits, realizing that she's never going to let this go. Shirley doesn't think so, either. She doesn't know how long she can do this with her, as she's tried to get her to move on, not let it define them. She wants everyone to live their lives.

The night of the carnival, students, parents, and everyone in-between rallies at the Millwood Fall Carnival. Shirley and Elodie try to enjoy a nice dinner. Elodie gets a text from an unknown number saying, "If you're not honest with Mouse, your worst fears will come true." Elodie panics that they shouldn't have let Mouse go. Shirley tells her the paranoia has to stop as they've both had enough. Elodie has to protect her. Shirley warns her not to leave, as she doesn't know what will be waiting for her when she gets back. Elodie leaves the house in spite of the warning.

Mouse and Mouse are chased by A in the Hall of Mirrors. They run into Elodie, who needs to talk with Mouse alone. It's time to tell her the truth. They sit at a dirty table. The man who took Elodie wasn't a stranger. He was her father. This confuses Mouse, who has been told that she had a donor and not a father. After college, Elodie badly needed money. She saw a posting at the women's clinic, for a couple looking for a surrogate. They didn't use an agency, just did it themselves, so she was able to keep Mouse after the birth. Mouse asks if that's why he came up to her at the carnival. Elodie thinks it might be. Mouse asks if he was even trying to abducted her or just spend time with her. She turned her father into a boogie man. Elodie laments that he isn't her dad, but Mouse thinks he was, or at least wanted to be. She thanks her mom for telling her the truth, apologizing if her text threatening her worst fears scared her. She just needed to know the truth. She asks if there are any other secrets she wants to share, but Elodie swears there isn't.[4]

The week of Thanksgiving, Mouse's moms still aren't speaking after the fight the night of the carnival. At the Red Ranch Motel, Mouse wants Elodie to talk with Shirley. Elodie insists Shirley isn't the victim in this. Mouse asks why they're broken, if it could be about Angela Waters. She asks about her father but Elodie insists he isn't her father. Mouse tells her to forget it.

The mom's meet once more as Sidney announces they have a problem. Imogen and Tabby are still investigating Angela Waters. Somehow, they found out that Angela was raped. Corey thinks that Tabby and Imogen are ring leaders. Sid needs to find out how much they know. Elodie suggests snooping.[8]

On December 11th, The Little Liars explain to their mothers the entire situation with A, Karen being pushed, Tyler's murder, and A being train car guy. He was in love with Angela Waters in high school and years later, set about punishing the people who were somehow a party to her death. The sins of the mothers visited upon their daughters. They didn't tell their moms was was going on because A threatened them to keep quiet. They were afraid of what he might do if they ending follows his rules. The placed anonymous call to the police after they found Crazy Joe's body, and are assuming they found him. They're also assuming they assumed it was a suicide. They think he killed himself because Imogen busted his ass, discovered his identity, where he was living, and that he accomplished what he set out to do - test them, make them suffer. Punish the guilty, as he said. Now, it's time for their moms to tell them the whole truth about their connection to Angela Waters.

Sidney starts by admitting they were bullies in high school, horrible, mean girl bullies. Elodie reveals that she and Angela were in a secret relationship, but she denied it and said Angela was obsessed with her. Corey talked Angela into getting a tattoo, even though she knew Angela would get in trouble with her holy roller mother. Marjorie was smoking outside of school and when the janitor caught them, she made Angela say it was just her. Sidney wasn't a good friend to Angela. She confided in her about the assault and she didn't help her. Imogen asks why they were all so cruel to Angela. Elodie tries to justify it as it being a different time, with girls being meaner in the '90s. Corey admits Angela was an easy target. Marjorie adds that it was a game - a terrible game. Imogen asks about her mom and what she did to Angela. One Halloween, Davie thought it would be funny to make Angela throw filth at someone's door. After she did it, they all drove away and just left her there, alone. Now, they keep talking to one another so nothing like this ever happens again. Nothing leaves this room and after tonight, they move on.

The following Monday, Mouse and Ash successfully "Parent Trap" Elodie and Shirley at Pinball Pizza. Noa delivers their pizza and relays that refills are on the house tonight. The group starts preparing to eat. Elodie bluntly asks him if he he feels scared as a young trans man in Millwood. He nervously bites his pizza. Once back in her room, Mouse facetimes Ash and profusely apologizes for her mom's intense questions. He agrees they were intense but he thinks that her heart was in the right place. She sighs over it being constant dysfunction. He asks if she connected with her dad yet, and she did, over Thanksgiving. Ash is okay with going bowling just the three of them sometime.

Ash talks to Shirley and Elodie at Millwood Pawn, since Mouse isn't returning his calls or texts. They had a crazy night with her dad at the bowling alley. Elodie didn't know she was in contact with her father. Ash has met Steve a few times now. Elodie insists that isn't Mouse's father's name. She starts tracking Mouse's location, which upsets Shirley but also relieves her. They head out to the Red Ranch Hotel.

Ash bangs on the Red Ranch Motel door and Mouse answers, relieved to see him. Her mom's question why she's there and dressed like that. Elodie sees Steve sobbing on the couch over a photo album and recognizes him. Mouse admits that her friend Steve got some bad news about his daughter Rachel. They were playing pretend, both of them. But now the game's over. She hugs her moms and apologizes to them.[9]

Mouse and her friends learn Tom Beasley raped Angela Waters in 1999 and was Davie Adams's boyfriend. The girls split up their parents to confront them. Mouse asks Elodie about it, and learns that Davie only dated Beasley for a few weeks in Senior year. On December 15th, A comes for The Sinners as part of The Little Liars Trial. Elodie hears a knock on her motel door and opens it to find A. He tries to push through but she closes the door. He shoves through and grabs her. A sends a text to the girls telling them it's time for the trial to begin. In a follow-up text, he sends a photo of The Sinners passed out in the back of his van. They don't have any choice now and have to meet A at the school.

The Little Liars face trials to see if they have mercy or not. A deems them as possibly worthy after sparing their victims, texting them to meet him in the auditorium. The girls lower their phones and slowly walk to the auditorium. What they find is their moms tied to chairs. They scream and run towards them, but the moms yell at them to stay back. Not to come any closer. A emerges from stage right. Imogen takes a brave step forward. They're all here, now they want the truth - if he's Angela's brother. A voice confirms the suspicion as Principal Clanton walks across the stage to stand in the middle, holding a gun. He remarks that A's real name is Archie. He instructs them to have a seat.

The Little Liars take their seats as Mouse questions what Clanton is doing there. He's truly impressed with the girls as they uncovered the identity of the man who violated his poor Angela. Faran calls him out on his use of “his” poor Angela. He reveals that she was his daughter, and Archie is his son. Imogen scoffs that “A” is for Archie not Angela. Elodie doesn't understand how they didn't know he was Angela's father, as it doesn't add up. It does, and he decides to explain.

He grew up in Millwood and was classmates with Rose Waters, Angela's mother. As teens, they sang in the school choir together. Eventually, she took a liking to him, and after spending some time together, Rose got pregnant with twins. His parents didn't approve and the Waters family needed money, so the Clanton's paid them off to move to another town, never to return. Clanton stayed in town and became a teacher at Millwood High, and eventually vice principal. That's when Rose came back to Millwood. She wanted Angela to attend Millwood High and get a decent education.

Imogen asks why it was just Angela and not Archie. Clanton relents that Rose wanted Archie at home, as he had a face only a mother could love. No one could ever know the truth about their past, and Rose understood. He watched his daughter go from class to class, arm-in-arm with Davie Adams and her clique. But then, Angela took her own life. Not because of the assault, but afterwards, because of something Corey Bryant, Marjorie Olivar, Sidney Haworthe, Elodie Honrada did, and it's time for the truth.

Clanton repeats that Angela took her life not because of what Tom did to her, but because of something else. Something insidious that happened right under their noses. Imogen thinks she knows what Principal Clanton is talking about. She takes out Davie's diary pages that were with her mother. They say “erase her” on almost every page. She asks what it means. The moms exchange a look. The girls need to know the truth, with Tabby and Imogen pushing Sidney to tell the truth.

Back in 1999, Davie talks to Angela at the lockers, as Sidney told them about what happened to her. She wants to make sure she's okay, asking if she knows who did it. Angela nervously admits that it was Tommy. It wasn't her fault as he did it to her. Davie reels from the revelation and hisses out that Angela's a liar. Tom was her boyfriend, so Davie had to pick a side - Angela or Tommy. She picked Tommy. Instead of helping Angela, she lamed her. In the bathroom, Davie tells the girls that Angela is lying about what happened. The girls wonder if she isn't lying, with Davie calling them dense as it's clear Angela's just trying to get attention, like always. Corey and Sidney thinks it's different this time, angering Davie who doubles-down that Angela's out of control. They need to teach her a lesson. They have to ignore her, pretend that she doesn't exist. They're going to erase Angela Waters. But not just them, everyone else too. They'll turn Angela into a ghost, making her invisible as if she were nothing. The student body slams into Angela and knocks her to the ground, making her drop her papers. The students step on them and ignore her as Davie and her friends laugh from the lockers. Things just kept getting worse, and there was one last final humiliation. One last nail that Davie wanted to put in Angela's coffin - an even more public shaming. Davie approaches Angela at the swings to apologize for everything that happened. Especially for not believing her. She's been a real biatch. She wants to make it up to her, they all do. She hands her the Y2K rave flier. They're all going and Angela has to come, as it'll be fun. After that, they'll have a fresh start. When Angela arrived at the party she was a mess, like she had crawled through the woods. But Davie still made them ignore her, shun her, even though Angela was clearly in distress. They didn't know it would lead to her death. She concludes that is what "erase her" means.

Imogen chokes out tears as that's why her mom killed herself. She quickly asks if they killed her, but Clanton denies it as they sent her a gift, the flier, as a reminder for what she had done. Imogen protests as her mom had changed. She became a different person, a good, kind person. What she did to Angela was horrible, yes, but she was so much more than that. He has to believe her as Davie changed, and they can all change. Like he said, they can be better and do better. Clanton surmises that even if she did change, it was too late to save Angela. Since Davie took the coward's way out, the sins of the mother must fall upon the child. He calls for Archie who stalks forward. The girls leap from their chairs as they scream in protest, forming a barrier in front of Imogen. The teen leaps to her feet to scream that her baby is innocent, clutching her stomach tightly. The outburst stops A in his tracks. Imogen rushes out that the punishment wouldn't fit the crime, as it's wrong and he knows it. Clanton isn't any better as he erased her just as much as their mothers did. He coolly says that's enough, but for her baby's sake, he'll give her a head start. After all, it's more than Angela got. He holds onto Archie's arm as the girls huddle together in tears. Noa turns to Imogen and tells her to run, so the girl takes off out of the gym.

Faran asks Clanton what happens to them now. He believes that with their sacrifice, they'll ensure that what happened to Angela will never be forgotten, or ever happen again. Mouse asks what the sacrifice is. Tabby thinks the double standard is kind of fucked up, which confuses Clanton. Sheriff Beasley is the one who raped Angela, his daughter, yet he's here taking it out on them. He plans to pin all of this mess on Tom. Beyond that, Tom Beasley will get his. Kelly bursts in, saying that Tom already did. She gasps in surprise at the sight of everyone. Clanton pulls his gun and shoots Greg in the shoulder. The boy collapses and Kelly drops to help him. Tabby leaps to her feet and smashes Mr. Smithee's name plaque across the back of his head. He collapses to the ground unconscious. The girls rush to their moms to free them while Kelly applies pressure to Greg's wound and screams for help. Tabby works to restrain Clanton. In the end, A is arrested and detained at the hospital after a bloody showdown with Imogen, Tom is killed by Mrs. Beasley, Chip and Clanton are arrested, and Imogen has her daughter.

Everyone gathers at the Haworthe house for Christmas. They dance, laugh, and converse, with Kelly meeting Baby Adams for the first time. Everyone sits around the fire to reveal their favorite Christmas movies ever. Marjorie wants to share something with all of them. She's going to check into rehab but just wanted to spend the holidays with Noa before going in. Noa is so proud of her mom. Elodie invites her to stay with them until her mom gets better. Tabby chimes in that she's welcome here too, as the more the merrier. Corey assures Marjorie that they'll take care of her. She is included, as she's staying in Millwood permanently. Henry whispers to Faran that it'll make it harder to sneak into her room. Corey heard that, calling him Prince Charming. Faran tells him they'll figure it out. Since everyone is making an announcement, Shirley and Elodie are going to couple's therapy next week. So, no more Red Ranch Hotel for her. Mouse chimes in that she'll never go there alone, as she has everything she needs right here. Ash asks if they can finally confirm that Mash is canon. She looks around the rumor with a huge smile before kissing him in response. Shawn and Noa kiss, followed by Kelly and Greg, Henry and Faran, and finally, Imogen rests her head on Tabby's shoulder.[10]

Season 2[]

On Christmas morning, Shirley, Elodie, and Mouse receive a panicked call that Archie Waters has escaped police custody. The family goes to the Haworthe house where Deputy Maroon addresses the Haworthe's, Honrada's, Bryant's, Olivar's, Beasley's, and Imogen. Mouse worries they should enter protective custody and change their names. Maroon is confident the department will apprehend Archie soon, but this is of little comfort to the families. Archie is ultimately arrested a week later through the efforts of Tabby and Imogen. Sidney relays the relieving news to the families who are at her house.[11]

Six months later, it's the final week of school, with Shirley and Elodie preparing for a Disney cruise. They leave Mouse in the capable hands of Lola Honrada, Mouse's grandmother. Elodie makes several rules she expects Mouse to follow while their gone. This includes Mouse giving her moms her new phone number, the secret one that Dr. Sullivan recommended she maintain. Mouse texts them from her new number.[12]
