The world, the student learns, is hell and human beings must suffer to achieve salvation. The play centers on a family of strangers who meet for the sake of meeting ... they simply sit and bask in their own misfortune."

Nods to Pretty Little Liars[]
- Caitlin received a text that said, "I see you. - A". The message alluded to the infamous A messages that The Liars received during the first five seasons of Pretty Little Liars.
- Ava wears a designer red jacket for a portion of the episode. This could be a reference to the Pretty Little Liars villain, Red Coat.
- While looking in the mirror, Mona whispers the word "Flawless". Flawless is the second book in the "Pretty Little Liars book series".
