Unspecified time in 1999 -Marjorie Olivar smokes a cigarette that she hands to Angela Waters. The girl is reluctant as her mom will kill her if she finds out. Marjorie tells her to have gum later, so Angela takes a draw, coughing wildly. Marjorie assures her that she'll get used to it. A janitor finds them smoking and confronts the girls, so Marjorie shoves the box into Angela's hands, pinning the blame on her. He dismisses Marjorie but takes Angela by the hand, leading her inside. Later Marjorie asking Angela to forgive her for the cigarette ordeal. She even gives Angela a gift to thank her for taking the blame. Inside the bag, is the same teddy bear but with a “Best Friend 4 Ever” t-shirt.
October 31, 1999 -The group of girls run amok and destroy pumpkins for Halloween. In front of a house, Angela Waters is handed a bag of dog feces and instructed to throw it at the front door, part of so-called “initiation”. She’s concerned about being seen, but Davie Adams assures her they got her back as she is handed a pumpkin to put over her head as a disguise. The girls laugh at her weak refusal. Nonetheless, Angela forces herself to do as she’s told, but the girls drive off and mockingly wave goodbye. Angela is left at the curbside breathing hard as the owner of the vandalized house yells out to the assailant.
Unspecified time in 1999 - Corey and Angela sit inside The Wicked Pen Tattoo shop. Corey asks for Angela's opinion on fonts for a tattoo. All of the girls will get their first initials on their shoulders. The tattoo artist asks who is going first, with Corey volunteering Angela, assuring the girl that she'll be right behind her. After a while, Angela's first initial is tattooed on her left shoulder. The artist reminds her to take care of it with Vaseline. She looks up to see an empty couch where Corey should be. She nervously stands, calling out for her friend.
Unspecified time in 1999 - Elodie and Angela enter the Hall of Mirrors, hand in hand. The pair stops, with Elodie telling Angela they're alone. They start kissing until Davie then walks in and, as a way to divert from Elodie's feelings for Angela, Elodie lies and says that Angela started attacking her. Davie snaps that Angela shouldn't think about coming onto her. She proceeds to call Angela, Xena. Elodie and Davie then leave, with Angela staring at one of the mirrors.
Unspecified time in 1999 - Sidney opens a bathroom stall at Millwood High to find Angela sitting next to the toilet, sobbing. Something happened to her. Sidney goes to the other girls where they sit at a classroom table. They have a problem about Angela, which makes Davie scoff, asking what the dead pudding did now. It's not what she did, but what was done to her.
January 2, 2000 -Angela's body was later found two days afterwards, as a consequence of the bystander effect. The coroners easily dismissed her death as a lone suicide, and authorities failed to uncover the reason why she was in the warehouse due to a lack of willpower and interest. As Sidney would later recount, "The less said back then, the better."
October 24, 2000-Bethany Young and Charles DiLaurentis are talking about leaving Radley when Marion Cavanaugh walks up to the roof. While Charles hides, she is talking to her until she pushes the woman off the roof. Charles asks her why she was doing this, but Bethany blames it on him. She states that nobody would believe a boy in a dress.
Unspecified time in 2004/2005-One day UPenn was cancelled (because she called in a bomb threat) Charlotte howed up at Rosewood High where she found Jason taking a yearbook picture. She asked “Would it kill you to smile?” and he says “What’s it to you?”. Charlotte says “rude, much?” and he looks over at her and quickly apologizes. He asks if they can start over and introduces himself, before asking if she goes to school there and she says she doesn’t but she bets she’ll be the prettiest girl in the yearbook. When Jason says that she didn’t tell him her name, she introduces herself as CeCe Drake.
October 29, 2008 -Alison DiLaurentis' harassment made Mona Vanderwaal decides to take revenge and harass Alison. With the nickname "A". At the costume shop, Noel startles Alison by grabbing her from behind and covering her mouth while wearing a scary mask. Alison is ruffled, but not upset. She then spots the new girl in Rosewood buying a costume - a "Lady G." costume to be precise. She tries to intimidate her to buy a different one, declaring that that is her own costume choice for this year. The new girl noncommittally agrees to think about changing her decision, but turns her attention away from Alison. Before walking away, Alison offers her name, to which the girl replies that she already knows it, and her own name is Jenna. Alison gets an anonymous text that says "I’m watching you" from a blocked number.
October 30, 2008 - Aria and Alison go out for frozen yogurt. While they are walking, Mona sees them and calls out to join them. Aria looks inclined to stop, but Alison propels Aria forward in attempt to lose Mona. They run until they turn a corner past some bushes, then stop in their tracks when they see Byron and Meredith making out in his car. Byron is all smiles until he spots his daughter and her crestfallen face. Alison had tried to convince her to tell her mother what she saw. When Byron had tried to call Aria, Alison had warned her not to pick up, correctly suspecting that he would try to talk Aria out of revealing what she saw. Alison had warned Aria that she could risk losing both parents if she didn't tell.
Next, Alison is seen sitting on her bed, writing in a notebook. When Jason enters without knocking, she immediately shuts the notebook. Jason glances at her move before demanding $20. After she forks it over, he then tosses her a package that was on the porch for her. He stares expectantly, hoping to see what's inside, but Alison is careful not to open it until he's gone. Inside is a burlap doll with a red heart and a pin and a note that says "It’s my turn to torture you." Ali reads the typed note aloud.
October 31, 2008 - The Noel Kahn Halloween party begins. Where Alison invites Jenna to be part of her clique, although Jenna appreciates the fact that she took her into account, she preferred to choose her own friends which angers Alison for rejecting her. Later in an old abandoned house in the town, Alison plays a practical joke on the girls with the help of "Noel" saying that it was a test to see if she could trust them or not. But upon returning to the party, it is discovered that Noel could not help Alison so she wonders "Who attacked me?", instantly she receives a message signed by "A".
The Liars were taking a shortcut to her house and when they arrived, they found some smashed jack-o-lanterns on the porch and a note left under a knife. Aria reached out to take the knife, but Ali suddenly grabbed it. When the girls asked if the note says anything about who caused the destruction, Ali said it was Jason's "beer buddies," then, scared, she invited the girls to sleep over. They made excuses but Alison apologized about what happened, saying she had gone too far and the girls likely stayed over. The note was signed by "A," meaning Alison was a victim of "A" as well.
Unspecified time in 2009 - Aria and Alison snuck into Byron's office to find out if he was still cheating with Meredith. Alison finds one earring in the couch cushions and Aria freaks out. Upset and angry, she lets Alison talk her into trashing the office and letting him believe Meredith did it. Before Alison "finds" the earring, you can see it sparkling in her hand, meaning she had actually planted the earring there. Meredith also states the earring is not hers, further proving Alison planted it.
Unspecified time in 2009 - Alison met Ezra Fitz (Alias Board Shorts) at a pub near Hollis College reading alone on a couch, so she grabs a book and after googling the book he was reading, starts up a conversation with him. Board Shorts, as Alison named Ezra in her diaries, comes from "Board Shorts Ale", a beer that Ezra used to drink with pie when he dated Alison.
June/August 2009 -The Liars had spent lounging by the shore of the lake. in that day they had spoken about immortality and the fantasy of living in this moment forever. Alison had said that one could attain that only by dying young and leaving behind a beautiful corpse. Getting into it, Alison had romanticized how fabulous it would be to die in a mysterious way.
Jenna Marshall had come to start a barbecue, wearing her now familiar shades then taking them off. Alison expressed her annoyance, and Emily commented on Toby Cavanaugh's conspicuous absence. When Alison responded by mocking him in conversation, Spencer rolled her eyes and pointed out how typical it was of Alison to taunt others. But, she softened when the girls all agreed that this day was perfect and then shared their dream that they would be friends until they grow old.
Alison had spotted Noel Kahn with a girl named Prudence. Alison had torn into her too, suggesting that she was anything but chaste with Noel and provocatively suggested that she had gotten a boob job. Aria had ogled at Noel applying sun block on her enviously. As if reading her mind, Alison asked if she would "also" do something like that to get Noel's attention. She then teased Aria for falling for brainy guys. She also called Noel immature and simultaneously perfect for Aria, flustering her. Ali said she preferred more mature guys.
When Lucas Gottesman had run in front of them to pick up his toy motor boat, she had incessantly made offensive comments to him. Finally, Hanna had exclaimed "hey" as if to stand up to Alison and stop her from teasing him, but she recoiled and sat silent. Alison then turned on her, warning her to never let a moment pass, as Lucas trudged away.
Alison had commented on the pair of Noel and Prudence heading to where assumed was The Kissing Rock. She had, as a matter of fact, informed Emily that people had gone there to kiss for hundreds of years. She then looked Emily daringly in the eyes and asked her who she would like to take to The Kissing Rock. Emily had just smiled shyly while staring back.
June/August 2009 - Alison hangs out with "CeCe Drake", Jason DiLaurentis, Melissa Hastings and Darren Wilden (Alias Beach Hottie) at Cape May. One night when CeCe was hanging out at a crab shack and spots Alison, she tells her that she is 2 weeks late and scared she is pregnant because she didn't use protection every time with "Beach Hottie". When CeCe asks her if she told 'him,' Ali says she can't because he would kill her.
July/August 2009 - Alison DiLaurentis with her friends Spencer Hastings, Hanna Marin, Aria Montgomery and Emily Fields go to Ian's college party. The girl's flashback to a college party Alison had taken them to, probably in an effort to spy on Ian. Ian had been flirting with a particular tipsy girl and had gone off with her to one of the rooms upstairs. Later, Noel push that girl down the stairs. The girls all exchanged looks after her fall, and in hindsight, they are left to question whether Ian, or Ali. When Alison showed up, she had seemed either oblivious to the girl's accident or indifferent. At the same time, the girls were afraid of being caught being underage at a drinking party, which was very likely with the police swarming about. Due to this accident, "CeCe" gets kicked out of UPenn
August 2009 - Alison visited Toby in the juvenile facility. She thinks he was the person writing notes to people as "A" while Jenna was in the hospital. He says it wasn't him and that he wishes he knew who was doing it because he'd love to help them. He thinks that Alison and her posse deserved to get those notes also he was happy Getting away from Jenna.
August 27, 2009 - Alison was also blackmailing Byron Montgomery that summer about his affair with Meredith. She was leveraging their affair for financial gain, getting payments from Byron. He wanted to stop the blackmail and didn't want to keep paying her off, threatening to take action against her. She calls Ella right then and there, but Byron snatches the phone and squeezes her wrist tightly. Byron tells her that he can't give her the money again, and that Ella will notice it's missing. Ali says he will have time to figure it out, and that she's leaving to her grandma's this Labor Day weekend (the same weekend she went missing). She tells him that she will see him after the weekend. She tells him in a fake sweet voice "Have a nice week, Mr. Montgomery!" and he looks after her, worried.
August 2009 - Ali asked her Mother to have a vacation at her Grandma's and she agreed. Alison left Rosewood again and went to her Grandmother's in Georgia, but she only went there briefly so that she had an alibi to go to Cape May. During her stay at her Grandma's she was calling Mrs. Grunwald in her secret room in Cicero College to help her find out who A is. Because of Ali calling her Tippi picked up Carla's number.
September 2, 2009 - Mona helps disguise Alison with a black wig and clothes so she can disappear. Before she leaves Alison gives Mona tips on She tells Mona things to do to make her popular "You don't have to be a loser, Mona". Alison left as the yellow top and something important her bracelet with the name "Alison". Alison gets in her car, and sees Mona staring at her. Alison smiles and leaves. Mona stands there, with an eerie smile on her face. She got exactly what she wanted. The end of Alison's harrasment

November 2009 - Hanna was still Hefty Hanna. She is seen eating cupcakes by Mona who approaches her and comforts her about Ali’s disappearance. She says that being missing for two months is not a sign that Ali will return and that someone needs to take her place. Hanna is confused. Mona tells her that she can tell her the secret of being unforgetable.
December 2009 - Mona and Hanna are at the snowflake wishing tree. Hanna asks Mona what she wished for, and Mona tells her that Hanna is her first friend, “I wished for us to always stay close”. Hanna tells her they will, besties forever, she promises. Mona then asks Hanna what she wished for, and after Hanna tells her she wished for Jimmy Choo’s, Mona tells her she’s getting those. When Hanna questions that she is, Mona comments that if Santa doesn’t bring them, “we’ll steal ‘em”.

Aria returns to Rosewood. Aria meets Ezra at the Hollis Bar & Grill. Ezra says he is teaching English, though does not specify where. In addition, Aria is vague about where she attends school. Their meeting ends with the two making out in the bar bathroom.
Hanna Marin and her friend Mona Vanderwaal are shopping. Hanna bumps into Spencer and takes the opportunity to catch up with her. She then shoplifts a pair of super expensive sunglasses, while Mona shoplifts a scarf. Just then, a security guard follows Hanna out of the store, but to hand her her bag, which she forgot inside. Hanna smiles mock innocently, and her and Mona leave, scared, but relieved. Mona saw Hanna talking to Spencer Hastings and thinks Spencer and the other girls wants to steal Hanna from her.
September 2, 2010 - The Rosewood High School class of 2012 enter as junior year including:
Walking into the school, Mona saw Aria Montgomery talking to her old friend, Emily Fields. Which made her worry even more, but it got even worse when Hanna greeted Aria in front of her, which meant in Mona's mind that the girls had "stolen" Hanna. She remembers her old alias and begins Game A. To punish Aria, Spencer, and Emily for "stealing" Hanna and Hanna herself for "abandoning" her so quickly.
September 2, 2010-Original "A" finds among the DiLaurentis family's old things, Alison's diary that was thrown in the trash after the St. Germain family arrived at the house. And there he finds the girls' secrets: Aria's father affair and how Aria knew everything, When Spencer kissed her sister's boyfriend at the time Ian Thomas, Hanna's eating problems and how Emily was in love with Alison. But she found the girls' dirtiest secret, "The Jenna Thing" when Alison and the other girls blinded Jenna Marshall in the summer of Alison's disappearance.
Also starts harassing the girls to find out their new secrets: Aria was having a romantic relationship with her English teacher Ezra Fitz, Spencer who was having a very close relationship with her sister's fiancé Wren Kingston, Hanna stealing accessories from stores and Emily having secrets feelings with the new girl Maya St. Germain, having all this in her power, she manages to turn you back into "A" and starts texting the girls.
September 2-3, 2010- The St. Germain family moves from San Francisco, California to Rosewood, Pennsylvania. And they move into the old DiLaurentis house, where the builders find the buried and decomposed corpse of Bethany Young. (But they mistakenly identify it as the body of Alison DiLaurentis)
September 2010- One night, Spencer is sprawled out on her bed, studying for her Latin test when Wren enters and flirtatiously offers to give Spencer another massage. She declines, and the two get to talking about personal stuff, and then, they get to kissing. At that moment, Melissa walks past in the hallway, catching sight of the lip-lock through Spencer's oval mirror. The next day, Spencer wakes up and, through her bedroom window, sees Wren moving his things out of the barn. Clearly, the engagement is off.
September 2010 - Aria returns home to her mother, she discovers Ella sitting in the living room. She announces that she has something important to tell her, but before she starts, Ella hands her the notes she is holding from "A" revealing Byron's infidelity and Aria's knowledge of the affair. Ella walks away, wordlessly.
September 2010 -Aria, Spencer, Emily and Hanna begin to prepare for Alison’s memorial. At the memorial, the girls are stunned by the sudden reappearance of Ian, Melissa’s ex, but even more surprised when Jenna takes the stage. As they wait with bated breath and anxiousness as to what she will say, or worse yet, spill - in the end, she offers quite possibly the kindest words for their dearly departed friend. Whether her moving speech was actually sincere, the Liars can’t be sure, because it could just as easily be another trick up Jenna’s sleeve.
After the memorial, Jason stops by Spencer's house to thank the girls. Knowing what Spencer has told them, the girls are now wary of him, but they do accept his gift - the "Alison" friendship bracelet Alison had been wearing the day of her death. The girls quickly realize that the beaded "Alison" bracelet that they had found must have been a fake, fashioned by someone like "A." At the end of the episode, Alison's memorial is being badly trashed by Lucas Gottesman.

October 6, 2010 - At school, Mona delivers invitations for her camping birthday party on Saturday to her friends in the hallway. Of course, Hanna plans to go, but the rest of the girls are not planning to attend Mona's party, not caring much for attitude-driven Mona. They apologize to Hanna, but then "A" sends a message that she will also be in attendance and that the party is a scavenger hunt for her.
And, having given Hanna the entire contents of her wallet that morning, Hanna’s mother Ashley grows increasingly desperate about their financial situation. When a (dying) old widow with no heirs named Mrs. Potter, who regularly frequents the bank once a year, comes over for her annual visit, Ashley thinks quick and takes advantage of the key she left behind. She steals money from the safe deposit box and drives home nervously, afraid of being caught. Her plan is to return the money when she is able without the loss being detected.
October 8, 2010 - Mona Vanderwaal's 17th birthday party is held at Rosewood Camp Grounds named "Camp Mona". That day Toby talks to Emily. He told her that he had gotten that tattoo not because of Alison, but because of Jenna. Since she was in love with Toby and forced him to have a relationship, but after Alison orchestrated "The Jenna Thing" he was able to save himself from Jenna. And that he had given Alison his sweater the day he disappeared, it was because it was cold.
Hanna is hit by an SUV.
During the night, Hanna is spying on "A" in the bushes, in which she sees Noel Kahn writing "See you" on Ezra Fitz's car window, while he and Aria were kissing. The reason was that Noel wanted to raise his grade in English, so he was blackmailing Ezra. But what he didn't know is that Hanna saw everything, mistakenly thinking that Noel was "A". Hanna texts her friends to meet up, but when she was about to talk to them, Hanna was hit by an SUV. Seconds later Aria receives a text from "A" saying: "She knew too much -A"
October 2010 - Alison DiLaurentis comeback to Rosewood and visits Hanna in the hospital. drops subtle hints about her disappearance that fateful night. Hanna tries to ask her what happened, but all Alison will say is that the four of them combined already know the truth. She says that she finds "A" to be a bitch and tells Hanna that she needs to do something about her. She also says that it is dangerous for her to come, but she did it for Hanna, worried about her being in the hospital. After she leaves, Hanna spots a styrofoam cup near her bed with a berry-colored lipstick stain on the rim, matching the exact shade of lipstick Alison is wearing during her "visit."
October 2010 - The girls wheel their helpless friend Hanna back into her home, where she‘ll be on bed rest for a few more days before returning to school. They leave to get the rest of her belongings. While attempting to reach something on a high shelf, she knocks some boxes down and discovers the wads of cash in a lasagna box that Ashley's been hiding from her mini-heist. The girls return, and Hanna gets rid of them so she can be alone with her stack of money. She's not too alone though, because she gets a text from "A!" A little while later, Hanna confronts her mom about the money, which she plays off as a "loan.” Ashley insists that it's her problem and that Hanna should just worry about getting better.
October 2010 - Unfortunately, Hanna is clueless about the homecoming party Mona is throwing for her, and it doesn’t turn out well. Not only does Noel show up, but Lucas drinks too much. Just the sight of Noel prompts Hanna to have a flashback about him at a different party, when Alison had manipulated a girl to dump Noel so Aria could have him. Hanna tries to talk to Lucas, but he's too busy pounding alcohol to put up with her niceties. Back at Emily's, she and Maya kiss goodbye on the porch when Pam awkwardly interrupts with leftovers. Aria tells Hanna she wants to leave, and Hanna makes jokes about hot faculty parties. Hanna says Aria should have told them a lot sooner, because they tell each other everything.
Hanna and Sean are telling a story about skiing when Lucas interrupts to pick a fight with Sean by calling him a Saint Bernard. Lucas is clearly still upset about Hanna rejecting him and makes a big scene. When Sean finally gets mad, Noel hilariously stops him by declaring, "It's like fighting a kid that needs a telethon!" Hanna requests an audience with Lucas outside. She tells him not to pick a fight with Sean when he's really mad at her. Lucas says not everything is about her. He goes off on a rant that ends with him revealing that he destroyed Alison's memorial since she was such a bitch to him for so long. Hanna tells him she'll keep it between them, but that just makes him sadder because when she's nice to him, it makes him like her more. Hanna brings up her suspicious feelings about Noel to Sean, who just wants to party. Hanna's not really in the party mood, though.
Hanna is alone at her house cleaning up after the party that she didn't even throw when she hears creepy noises from upstairs. She wheels around with one of her crutches and then hides in the kitchen in the dark. Just when she's starting to freak the out, her mom comes home and asks what happened. When she hears that people were over, she promptly heads to the pasta box to find that their money has been stolen.
October 2010 - Meanwhile, Hanna finds a note attached to a Benjamin Franklin in her locker, telling her to pick up an order for "Hefty Hanna" from Lucky Leons on Main Street. Hanna quickly hides the money when Aria appears, then lies about having physical therapy in order to avoid getting coffee with Aria after school. She eats, as jocks from school, including Noel, look on and taunt her. Hanna sees this as proof of Noel's identity as "A."
After Hanna finishes the cupcakes, she receives a text from "A" presumably taunting her to purge the cupcakes. Just then, Aria spots her and comes over, capably getting rid of the athletes, who are still oinking at her. Aria asks Hanna why she lied about physical therapy, and Hanna confesses about the bulimia. Hanna goes to the bathroom, but not to take "A" up on the second part of her dare; instead, she goes to wash her face and reaches for the paper towels. The first one reads "Oink, Oink Hanna," followed by a few hundred dollar bills, also courtesy of "A."
October 2010 - Emily chats on the phone with Maya until she sees Wayne staring at her from the doorway. He's all concerned about Toby, and keeps pushing Emily to tell him what's on her mind. After enough pushing, she finally comes out to him. He is momentarily silent. Emily's parents discuss their daughter's newfound sexuality. "Someone made her this way!" "She's experimenting!" "Let's keep this in perspective." Wayne is understanding (and happy she's not on drugs or pregnant), while Pam is livid and judgmental. All the while, Emily is sitting at the top of the stairs, listening to their conversation.
October 2010 - Ian and Melissa are back from their honeymoon and Ian is moving in with the Hastings. It becomes obvious to Spencer they are keeping secrets when she hears them having a hushed conversation late at night. Spencer encounters Ian the next morning in her kitchen. He's making breakfast and tries to make small talk, but she's beginning to feel very wary of him. Spencer spots the tag of Hilton Head on one of his suitcases and asks questions, mentioning Alison had been there as well. This makes Ian uncomfortable and their talk dies on an uncomfortable note. Because of this Spencer channels her inner-detective during her break at school and finds out Ian was at Hilton Head the same time as Alison.
October 2010- It seems Maya left her bookbag at Emily's place, which Pam discovers. She invades Maya's privacy and finds drugs hidden in a breath mints tin. She calls her parents who have Maya sent off to a juvie camp, putting great distance between her and Emily. Maya is sent to True North Juvenile Camp.
The rest of the girls go through Ian's boxes downstairs while Emily and Maya have a bittersweet farewell dance upstairs. The girls downstairs accomplish nothing. Maya thanks them and hugs everyone goodbye while someone watches from the window. After she's gone, Emily thanks them and Hanna mentions another girl who went where Maya is heading for huffing spray paint and came back as a drummer in a gospel band.
The shocking truth.
They then receive a shocking video (no doubt from "A") about the night Alison disappeared. It is the same footage that Officer Cooper had shown them, but there's extra in this video: seconds of footage center on a smiling Ian. Then the camera angle shifts, and we hear signs of struggling. Alison's hand comes into the view of the lens, groping the leaves on the ground, as she seems to have fallen, until the hand stops moving and goes limp. The girls scream as they see this and hear a noise outside. Whoever it is runs through the woods, and the girls try to chase the stalker, but it's gone by the time they're outside.
October 2010-Caleb Rivers is new student at Rosewood High He came to fix Emily Fields' phone so that she could call Maya St. Germain at her reform school. He could tell Emily is desperate, so he charges her an extra 40 bucks for a rush job. Hanna and Emily pick up her phone, and Caleb cryptically tells Hanna that while he may not know much about her, she doesn't know much about herself either.
October 2010- At home, Melissa admits to her sister later that night that she knows about Spencer‘s kiss with Ian, and she'd like to move on and continue their civility. Spencer is worried about her sister, but her casting suspicion on Ian, telling him he is dangerous, makes her sister think that she is jealously trying to split them up. Melissa apologizes for losing her temper earlier all the same, and, suddenly, Melissa gives her sister the news: that she is pregnant with Ian's child. Spencer is silent, however. When Melissa realizes she won't be getting a 'congratulations' out of Spencer, she mounts the stairs. At that moment, Spencer spots a note tucked into the French textbook Toby had handed her. It says that he has found a message on Jenna's house and thinks that she may be right about what she said before. Spencer suddenly understands why Toby had been so secretive before, with the possibility of Jenna being so close.
October 2010-Caleb starts living in Hanna's basement without Ashley's knowledge. Caleb "comes over" through the front door, surprising Hanna and disconcerting Mrs. Marin, who immediately forms a negative opinion of her daughter's new friend. Caleb takes the liberty of opening the door and greeting "James Leland". Hanna and Caleb are immediately suspicious of James, though for different reasons.
Hanna and Caleb come home from school and start kissing passionately. They make their way to the kitchen, where Ashley confronts them. She asks Caleb to leave, but Hanna protests that he just arrived. Ashley knows about Caleb hiding in the basement.
At school, Caleb is mysteriously speaking on the phone with someone, telling this person that something cannot happen that night. He keeps referring to "her," and it becomes clear after he mentions that he is living in her house that he means Hanna. It's revealed that Caleb was hired by Jenna Marshall to spy on Hanna. Hanna is furious and hashes out on Caleb when she returns home from school. He replied he never meant to hurt her, adding the fact he told Jenna that he couldn't help her anymore once things between him and Hanna started happening. She is not satisfied with this his explanation, and makes him leave.
October 2010- Due to lack of evidence, Toby Cavanaugh is released from prison. Spencer Hastings begins to visit him and he to visit her.
November 2010- Toby is working on his motorcycle, when Spencer comes by. Toby knows that Spencer is innocent, but when he sees a cop car pull up closely, he suggests that she leave and offers to visit her in her home later. He picks up on the fact that her parents would rather he not come around, though. So, they agree to meet up at the festival at 7 PM instead. Jenna comes out of the house, then, and calls Toby to drive her to school. It is unclear whether she overheard their date plans. At the festival, Spencer gets locked in fun house due to a fake text from "A."
November 2010- The girls are questioned by the police as to why they think Ian is Alison's killer. Each of the girls lets Detective Breyer know about the video footage of Ian with Alison but not Spencer dating him. Spencer and Toby form an unlikely alliance, as the two grow increasingly suspicious of Jenna and her ties to a mysterious room at a local motel. Toby is staying at the motel to escape Jenna's wrath. Toby and Spencer stake the room out from the room next door for Jenna and end up falling asleep. They wake up and realize "A" set them up on wild goose chase.

November 2010- The Liars find out that Alison had a thumb drive containing the N.A.T. Club's videos. She hid the videos in a lunchbox at a storage facility, and had given Emily the key in a snowglobe. The thumb drive contained secret videos, mostly of the girls through bedroom windows. There is footage of July 4, moments before The Jenna Thing, when Alison had been sure someone was spying on them in Emily's room. There is even some footage of Jenna seducing Toby Cavanaugh.
November 2010- Caleb is riding back to Rosewood with Lucas Gottesman who wants to bring him back to make Hanna happy. Meanwhile, Hanna deletes Caleb from her phone's contacts and sheds a few more tears.
November 2010 - After Melissa is in a car crash, Spencer goes to the church to pick up her phone only to be confronted by Ian. She shows him the thumb drive and throws it to distract him. She is nearly killed by him in order to stage her suicide but someone pushes him of the bell tower. After the girls find her, the police arrive but Ian's body is no where to be found leaving the town to wonder what the girls are up to. Much of the town emerges to see what the commotion is about, and Rosewood is left to wonder just how much truth the girls have been telling. Meanwhile, the girls all receive simultaneous messages, as "A" assures the girls that this is far from over…
In the aftermath of Ian's apparent death and disappearance, the girls are brought to the police precinct by Officer Garrett Reynolds, who pauses along the way to make sure none of them speak about his involvement in the extortion scheme.
November 2010-The Liars have a lot of explaining to do. The police and their parents are not quite sure what to believe, the girls' parents rally together the next morning to try and help the four girls, informing them they will start seeing a therapist. Now being forced to talk out their problems, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer feel more alone than ever, even with a reassurance that everything they discuss won't leave the therapist's office.
November 2010-Jason DiLaurentis moves into his old house, in which he once lived with Alison, after inheriting some money. Spencer visits him and offers to help him move in properly, however he declines her help and questions Spencer about Alison's death, asking whether Ian really admitted to killing her.
November 2010 - Aria gets a call from Ezra, while waiting for him in his apartment, as per their agreement. Ezra is stuck in a meeting with his new employers at Hollis College, surprised by how the long the meeting has gone. Aria is frustrated, thinking that this should have been anticipated, but she agrees to wait for Ezra in his apartment a while longer until he comes home.
November 2010- Emily finds, through discrete research, that the suicide and confession note was actually written by "A," revealing that Ian never really confessed to murdering Alison. In addition, as Officer Reynolds reveals based on forensic evidence that from the time that Ian's body was found, he must have been dead for approximately a week, it is clear that he could not have been the one sending text messages to Melissa. It seems that "A" was the real author of those texts, as the black gloved figure had possession of Ian's phone.
November 2010- Melissa loses her baby Taylor and starts pretending she's still pregnant and hiding it from everyone.
November 2010 -Jessica DiLaurentis, Alison and Jason's mother. Comebacks to Rosewood and meet the Liars in a lunch, despite their awkward reservations. The subject shifts to Jason and his moving back in, and Jessica reveals that she doesn't think of the house in Rosewood as their family's anymore, but as Jason is paying for the house himself, she has little choice but to respect her son's decision. She then presents the girls with presents, four high fashion dresses. The girls are uneasy, however, as they remember Alison having picked them out and trying them on in a flashback.
Next, Spencer brings the programs to the runway, but Mona has created a new revamped version, rendering Spencer's programs useless and time wasted. She has clearly taken over, taking the liberty to hire Noel Kahn as DJ. Spencer tries to be gracious, but is burning that Mona had jumped at the chance to take over the committee chair position when Spencer missed meetings. Nastily, she defends her decision claiming that she thought Spencer would be in jail.
At the runway, in the dress rehearsal before the show, Mona is bossing everyone around and driving Spencer insane. While the girls are waiting, Hanna asks if anyone has a spare ticket for her dad. It becomes clear that Hanna has not invited Caleb to come, not fully considering him her boyfriend again. In the rafters, Toby and Spencer kiss as he helps her recover from her Mona headache.
The fashion show starts, and the outfits do not disappoint. The tribute to Alison begins, with her image prominent on the runway screen and the girls walking the runway in her dresses. Suddenly, the image changes so as to make Alison look like the devil, with fire around and peeling black eyes. The screen flashes with the words "the bitch is dead," and the music changes from sentimental to hellish. The audience and the models are shocked and dismayed. Horrified, Jessica leaves her seat and runs off. Spencer runs to Noel to make him turn it off, but he claims he can't. She unplugs all the wires around his equipment until the images and sound effects stop. Immediately after the show, the girls try to comfort Jessica, but she doesn't return their calls, too disturbed for words.
November 2010 - Pam Fields is going to visit her husband Wayne for a while in Texas. Therefore. Emily is going to live for that time at the Marin's house. Where her best friend Hanna lives.
November 2010 - The Liars goes to the morgue discover that the murder weapon was a curved blunt edge. In addition, the attack with the weapon was from behind, as the injuries were in the back of her skull. And, the force of the weapon was so strong it dented Alison's (Bethany) skull. Lastly, her lungs were filled with dirt, meaning she was breathing in dirt when she died, as in, she was buried alive (under the gazebo).
December 2010 - Emily is seated at the Apple Rose Grille at a table for two. She is by herself, but when the busboy tries to remove the second setting, she stops him. Just then, Maya shows up. Maya and Emily share an intimate candlelit dinner for two. Apparently, Maya is out of rehab and is now living some forty-five minutes away from Rosewood with her parents. Emily and Maya catch up over dinner, and Maya is happy to hear that Pam has eased up on Emily, trusts her again, and is more accepting of who she is.
December 19, 2010- "A" forces Hanna to sabotage the wedding, so mid-ceremony, Hanna interrupts and asks to speak to Isabel. Tom says in a warning voice that it can wait, but Hanna insists that it cannot, so she tells Isabel about her parents sexual fling when Tom came back to Rosewood. Isabel is shocked and asks Tom if it true, as he is standing right behind Hanna when she makes her revelation. Tom is silent, so Isabel stalks off. Fearful, Hanna turns to face her father and mumble a "sorry," but Tom does not answer her.
Emily is trapped in a barn by "A". Alison returns to Rosewood for the second time and rescues Emily and drags her unconscious body and wakes up on someone's lap in a sunny field. She tells him that he is fine and that he is with her now. She says that she misses her the most and that Emily was always her favorite. Emily asks if she's dying, but Alison brushes the question off, saying "that bitch thinks this is what you really want. Free yourself from 'A' completely." Emily tells her to say who 'A' is, but Alison says no. because "Two can only keep a secret, if one of them is dead" She then gives Emily a choice: go with her or stay here Emily closes her eyes and Alison says "Sweet Emily" She then kisses Emily and Emily wakes up in front of the barn. The other liars find her and Emily tells them that Alison is alive. But her friends say that Alison is dead.
In their heels, they stumble towards the undisclosed location in the middle of some woods, but there is nothing, then a clearing. The girls then catch sight of a stick protruding from a spot in the ground. Hanna notices it and gets texted, prompting Hanna to say she’s still alive and that they should start digging. First they find her boots, and eventually, a face that belongs to a mannequin. Then, a helicopter roars overheard, and the girls realize that they have been set up. Meanwhile, Veronica gets her chance to speak with the girls directly, letting them know that although Detective Wilden had been suspended for his actions, he has now been reinstated as chief officer in this investigation, because he has evidence.
Back inside the investigation room, Detective Wilden confronts the girls, saying he’s given them so many chances to be honest with them, and evidence doesn’t lie. He asserts that he has caught the girls with the murder weapon, which the police have known about all along. He puts the now-bagged shovel from the barn on the table.
December 2010 - Jason finds Peter's and Jessica's love letters at his grandmother's house and finds out Peter is his father
February 2011 - On the Rosewood Camp Grounds, the four girls are picking up trash for community service. Two strangers also doing time make snarky comments in front of the girls about them, and when one says they killed someone, Emily snaps at her by saying they didn't do anything. Spencer tells Emily to stop talking to them. Emily tells the other girls that Spencer's mom would sell them out in a second to save Spencer and that they should consider making a deal with "A." A fight ensues. Aria and the guards break it up, earning both Spencer and Emily two extra weeks of community service. Meanwhile, Garrett takes in the whole scene giddily from his car, where he is calmly eating snacks.
February 2011 - Later, standing before Byron and Ella in their living room, Ezra and Aria finally come clean about their relationship, much to her parents' shock and anger. Ezra does most of the talking, explaining he's in love with Aria and admits it started before she was his student and that it continued while she was his student. Aria stands up and assures them it's true, slipping her hand into Ezra's. Ella and Byron are both in disbelief. Ella tries to send Mike and Aria upstairs, but Aria refuses. Before Byron can hit Ezra, Mike walks up and does it first. After a stunned silence, Aria advises Ezra to leave.
February 2011 -Kate Randall, the daughter of Isabel Marin (formerly Randall) the new wife of Tom Marin. She shows up at Rosewood High as a new student and walks up to the girls at the lunch table, looking a bit flustered and awkwardly making awkward conversation with the girls. Spencer asks Kate if they've met before. Kate says it was at the wedding, but Spencer thinks it was somewhere else. Hanna shows Kate to her next class.
In the locker room, Spencer ties her shoelaces, and notices Kate is having trouble with her locker combination. Spencer reveals that she finally figured out where she knows Kate from - a horse camp during the summer of 2006, where Melissa was a counselor and Kate attended. Kate says Spencer wins and asks her what she wants in return of keeping her attendance of the camp private. Spencer assures Kate that she wasn't going to tell anyone, but Melissa sent her pictures from that summer, and if her being nice to Hanna is a charade, she'd better keep it up. The next day, everyone on Hanna's contacts list receives a photo of Kate, naked, changing in the locker room.
Hanna leads Kate into the girls bathroom and confronts her about the picture, saying she didn't take the picture, but she knows who did. Kate insists she doesn't know what Hanna is talking about, and Hanna says that there was no birthmark in the photo, and that Kate should be more careful when taking a sweater off in public. Kate yells at Hanna, saying that she had no choice, as she knew Spencer would download the hideous pictures of her at riding camp. Hanna asks Aria if she can borrow her phone, and Aria and Emily emerge from the bathroom stalls, having recorded the conversation and Kate's confession. Kate is expelled of Rosewood High School
February 2011- Caleb hacked the video to see a photo license with the name "Vivian Darkbloom" Hanna's good mood suddenly shifts when she finds the picture of Ali's fake ID on Spencer's phone. Spencer confesses that Caleb is still working on the information from "A's" phone, and they kept it a secret from her. Hanna is furious. She says that while she was worried about Kate backstabbing her, she didn't realize Spencer was the one holding the knife and storms out.
Hanna waits for Caleb outside her house. She confronts him about going behind her back. He says that he knows she is trying to protect him, but he is worried about her. Hanna says he isn't the only one she is trying to protect and tells him the last year was really hard on her and Ashley. She confesses that they had serious money issues and almost lost their house, and Ashley stole money from the bank to support them. Hanna says she never told anyone that before, and Caleb thanks Hanna for trusting him. Hanna says someone else knows and is holding it over her. Caleb asks if it's Jenna, but Hanna says she doesn't know, and that it is this unknown person's phone that Caleb is working on.
Spencer goes at Hanna's to apologize about working with Caleb Rivers behind her back. Hanna forgives her and says that she had actually seen Ali with dark hair once before. She flashes back to a day when she was at a hair salon and heard a familiar voice talking to the stylist. The man referred to the dark-haired girl as Vivian Darkbloom. After he left, Hanna realized that "Vivian" was actually Alison. Alison asked her what she was doing there, and she said that her mom made her an appointment. Hanna told Alison she liked her new hair. Alison told her that she was pretending to be someone else because she was getting bored of always being herself and suggested Hanna should try it sometime too. Alison asked Hanna to keep it a secret, then she took off her wig, smiling. When Spencer Google's the name Vivian Darkbloom, she and Hanna find out that the name was an alter-ego of Vladimir Nobokov, the man who wrote "Lolita," which apparently Hanna had seen Alison read.

April 2011 - Maya receives a text from her ex-boyfriend she hooked up with while she was away, joking that it is her "stalker." After dinner, Pam goes to get the bill and Emily is angry and frustrated that Maya ruined dinner. Maya responds by asking if it was Pam who had an issue with her dating a guy, or if it was Emily herself.
April 2011 - Hanna picks up the bag off Jason's porch, she hears a noise come from inside. She looks in the window and sees Jenna collapse to the floor. Hanna runs inside and drags Jenna out as Spencer arrives to help. Smoke pours out the windows then an explosion rocks the house. Hanna and Spencer stare in shock.
Jenna wakes up in the hospital and Toby hands her her glasses. He asks if she remembers what happened. She remembers she got a text from Jason asking her to come over to talk. She took a cab and someone opened the front door. When she woke up the house was on fire. Jenna is distressed to hear Hanna got her out.
April 2011 - When Mona begins to receive texts from "A," Hanna confesses that "A" is someone who is tormenting her and her friends. Mona replies that if she can live through Alison, she can survive this anonymous texting. Later, Mona shows Hanna an incident report from when Hanna shoplifted the sunglasses. The report was put into Mona's mailbox by "A." Mona had to give the incident report to the Rosewood Observer or else she'd be filling out a police report herself. The next day, Mona reveals that she went to the jewelry store and returned the necklace she stole. The store owners called the police and her mom is working out a deal. Hanna thanks her and Mona replies that she wouldn't do anything to hurt her best friend and her mom. At school, when Hanna passes by Mona's table, Hanna invites Mona to sit with her, Aria, and Emily. Mona was reluctant first but eventually agrees to sit with them.
April 2011 - Alison comes back to Rosewood for the third time and heads to Spencer. Spencer wakes up in the middle of the night in her living room to find Alison rummaging through the bag Jason gave her. Alison asks Spencer not to scream, claiming she only needs something from the bag. Alison asks Spencer if she is mad at her for never telling her about Jason being her brother too. Alison says that by sharing a brother, it practically makes them sisters and that Spencer deserves a more decent sister. If she had told Spencer the truth about Jason, it would have changed everything. Alison sees a bottle of pain killers on the table, and asks to take a couple "for the road." She also says that it is now helpful the girls have the bag. She gives her a hint by telling her to look at the big picture instead of scrutinizing the individual pieces. Spencer asks what is in the bag that is so important, but Ali says she can't say. She states she misses Spencer and that everything the girls are dealing with is "some seriously messed up stuff." Ali informs Spencer, "here's the good news, you're getting warmer." Suddenly, Spencer and Alison hear a noise coming from upstairs, so Spencer stuffs the bag underneath the couch and falls back asleep.

April 2011 - Jenna takes out the missing page 5 of Alison's autopsy report and gives it to Toby. They give a report to the police. At the end of the episode, the police arrest Garrett for (allegedly) murdering Alison DiLaurentis.
April 2011 - Later, the girls arrive at the masquerade together. They have 3 hours to figure out who "A" is and agree to split up for the next hour to investigate separately. A masked individual sneaks up behind Hanna and whispers in her ear. He corrects Hanna that his name is Romeo, not Caleb. Mona walks up and reveals she helped Caleb pick out his costume.
Caleb and Hanna go off to dance and Spencer witnessed the whole thing. She tells Mona what a great friend she's been to Hanna. Mona seems truly touched by the compliment. Mona brings up the last time Mona saw Ali - at a vintage shop in Brookhaven. She had seen Ali, dressed strangely, spying on someone. Mona tells Alison that in exchange for keeping Ali's secret she wants to be popular, Alison then takes out a postcard and writes a phone number on it, which she tears off and hands to Mona.
While Caleb and Hanna dance, Spencer calls Emily. Something Mona said made Spencer realize that no one had checked into Room 2 since before Ali went missing. With 2 hours 'til midnight, she and Mona drive back to the motel to look for more clues. Spencer sits for tea with the innkeeper to distract him while Mona steals the key to Room 2 from behind the desk. They stare in stunned silence when they open the door.
Aria and Ezra have their first official dance. They remove their masks and even kiss in public, not caring who might see. Elsewhere, a masked Paige dressed in a suit approaches Emily.
Spencer and Mona take in the room, which is plastered with photos of all the girls, newspaper clippings, dolls, maps and blueprints, and many familiar items belonging to A; it’s A's Lair.
Paige and Emily sit down and have a conversation about their relationship. Paige wishes she hadn't let Emily go the first time around. In the end, they decide to be friends. Back at the motel, Spencer and Mona get a closer look at the items in "A's" lair. Mona discovers some sketches of a masquerade costume. They assume "A" must be dressing as the Black Swan and Mona calls Hanna to warn her. Back at the party, Hanna happens to notice the Black Swan make an entrance.
While at "A's" lair, Spencer begins to notice the pieces of the puzzle falling into place. Mona offers Spencer a piece of gum. She declines, then notices that there is a gum wrapper inside of Ali's stolen diary . When Mona momentarily leaves the room, Spencer finds more clues pointing to "A" being Mona, including a bag of cashmere sweaters. And when Mona returns, she is wearing "A's" black hoodie and knocks Spencer unconscious with a flashlight.
Spencer wakes up in the car terrified with Mona driving recklessly. At the party, Hanna tries to call Spencer, but her phone isn't working. Aria makes the call instead as they realize Hanna's phone has been set to record every time it is turned on. Spencer covertly answers Aria's video call so that her friends can see and hear her conversation with Mona. The girls come to the realization that Mona is in fact "A," leaving Hanna in a state of disbelief that her so-called friend is "A." A quick-thinking Spencer drops the hint that they are headed to Look Out Point. Aria knows a shortcut and they race to get there first.
Mona tells Spencer that she admires her and asks if she'd like to join The A-Team. Spencer asks if the reason Mona became A was her anger at them for letting Alison bully her. Mona laughs and says that she got over that a long time ago. Mona reveals that she became A because she hated them for stealing Hanna's friendship from her. Spencer pleads with Mona to stop, encouraging her that Hanna is still her friend.
Realizing it is now or never, Spencer pulls the emergency break, causing the car to skid to a stop long enough to escape. Mona jumps out of the car after her just as the other girls drive up, and Hanna careens towards Mona but at the girls' screams, slams on the brakes just before she strikes her down. Mona screams, runs and tackles Spencer and tries to push her off Look Out Point. They struggle and Mona slips and falls off the edge. The girls run to Spencer's side and stare in horror down at Mona.
Shortly after, the authorities and an ambulance arrive, surprisingly, along with Dr. Sullivan, and they discover Mona survived the fall. Dr. Sullivan comforts the girls, who are all visibly shaken by what has happened. Dr. Sullivan reveals that "A" blackmailed her by threatening her son, which is why she disappeared.
Later, the girls head to Emily's house to spend the night when an ambulance rushes past them. The police are waiting, and Emily runs up to her mom, who tells her that the police found a body, Maya. Emily is distraught. She falls into Spencer's arms and screams and sobs at the sight of the stretcher taking the body away while the girls try to comfort her.
April 2011 -Dr. Sullivan diagnoses Mona with a personality disorder which caused her to experience a sense of hyper-reality and omnipresence. We learn from Mona's thoughts that everything is working out just as she planned. Mona is found to be criminally insane and sent to an asylum for treatment. Dr. Sullivan is confident that Mona can be helped with treatment. Outside, Dr. Sullivan reveals it was Toby who convinced her to come back to Rosewood. Toby, waiting by his truck parked out front, tells Spencer he had to pretend not to love her, and the couple makes up with a passionate kiss.
August 2011 -Charlotte walks into Mona’s room wearing a red bathrobe and Mona tells her that she did everything she asked her to. Charlotte said she’s proud of her and Mona asks “You are?”. Charlotte then tells her that she’s getting better, she just needs to keep taking her meds and Mona says “I will, Ali. I promise”. Charlotte tells Mona that she needs to know everything about the girls. Mona tells him everything that happened in the junior year and the "A" game. Mona also told Charlotte about how happy the Liars were when Alison "died", which sent Charlotte over the edge, as she was secretly Alison's cousin and adoptive sister. She planned ways to insert herself into the Liars' lives and escaped Radley. Charlotte steals the game from Mona and becomes "Big A".
September 1, 2011- The girls decide to cover for Emily, so Hanna and Aria wipe any fingerprints off the shovel and bury it in the middle of the woods. On the way back to Spencer's house, they see Lucas drive off in the middle of the night. At Spencer's house, Spencer burns the clothes Emily was wearing so that there is no evidence against her. She then leaves a note to her mom saying they were at the lake house since that afternoon, providing them a solid alibi.
At the lake house, Spencer receives a call from her mother, stating that there were no witnesses, and relief spreads across the girls. Emily feels guilty, but the others comfort her saying that it was not her fault. They get their stories straight, and make a decision to pretend like last night never happened.
September 2, 2011- The Rosewood High School class of 2012 enter as senior year including:
September 2011 - Wren Kingston is working as one of Mona's doctors in the Radley Sanitarium. Wren informs Hanna that he volunteers at the Radley Sanitarium a few days each month when he catches her visiting Mona using a false name. He tells her she will probably never get the answers she is looking for from a mentally ill person, but agrees not to bust her. He even calls to let her know when Mona is making progress and encourages her to come back.
Just as she leaves the room, she runs into Wren, who is surprised to see her. She immediately asks him not to tell anyone about seeing her. She tells him that she has been visiting because she really needs some answers from Mona, but it's starting to prove futile.
September 2011 - Spencer takes the other girls to the Lost Woods Resort. She shows them the 3-D diagram she created on her computer in an attempt to recreate the lair as was before it was emptied. The girls admit that they lied to Emily. The day after Maya's body was found, the other girls returned to the Lost Woods to destroy the evidence which would get themselves and their loved ones in a lot of trouble, but the room had already been emptied. They discuss the likelihood that Mona had been working with someone else, who could have given Emily the massage and helped move Ian's body from the bell tower. Spencer believes this person to be the Black Swan, who must have been guilty of something or she would have no reason to run.
Just then, the Liars hear Spencer’s car alarm go off, prompting them to go outside, leaving Spencer's laptop alone in the room. The doors are wide open, and the seats and dash and trunk are covered in photographs of the girls at the cemetery in front of Ali’s open grave. The girls then receive a simultaneous text message : “Mona played with dolls. I play with body parts. Game on, bitches. –A."
September 2011 - The girls receive body parts and tokens of theirs from the girl in "Alison's" grave. "A" send to Emily a bracelet made of teeth and the words "DEAD GIRLS CAN'T SMILE" and a Paris Postcard reminding Emily of Alison telling her about moving to Paris forever. Hanna the ouija board planchette that she and Mona had played three days before the body was found. The earring that she and Ali found in the couch of Byron's office. They thought was Meredith's, but it wasn't. Finally with Spencer, "Alison's" finger bones attached to the corset of the dress she was wearing at Jessica DiLaurentis' bridal fashion show. confirmed later that "A" used the bones of a cadaver from a medical school.
September 2011 - Spencer wants Hanna to go back to Radley and get more information out of her, Hanna retorts saying it's not so easy; Caleb is repeatedly questioning her. Aria brings up the earring; if it's not Meredith's, whose is it then? Emily tells them what she remembered. She was in Jenna's car and Jenna was driving. Just then the bell rings and they decide to meet again at lunch to talk about this.
As they come out, they see Jenna heading towards the bathroom, so they quickly go back in. Getting a sudden idea, Spencer leaves the earring above the sink to see what Jenna's reaction would be. With two girls hiding and spying per stall, they see Jenna come in and head toward the sink. When she spots the earring, she takes her glasses off and inspects it. The girls' suspicions are now confirmed that Jenna is not blind. Jenna leaves the earring in its place and exits the bathroom. The girls come out and argue over Jenna's sight. Emily, Hanna and Aria are furious and immediately want to confront Jenna, also Hanna asking if she can slap her again, but Spencer stops them, saying that they could use this against her.
September 2011 - Lyndon James moves to Rosewood and ge introduces himself Maya's cousin, Nathan "Nate" St. Germain and asks if she has time to talk to him. Emily tells him it's her first day working and says she would prefer to call him later. He accepts and proceeds to tell her that he now lives in Rosewood and just started at Hollis College. Emily is a bit confused because Maya never mentioned she had a cousin coming to Hollis. But still, they become friends.
September 2011 - Jason comes to Spencer's house. He found April Rose - not a person, but an antique shop. Jason drives both of them there. Hanna and Toby arrive at the church party. Ashley and Ted greet them. Ashley makes some jokes about not getting alcohol in church, not knowing Ted is a pastor. Hanna spots Detective Wilden at the party, and pulls Toby out of his sight. Spencer and Jason get to the antique shop. Spencer recognizes an anklet on a mannequin - it was Alison's, who claimed that a 'friend' gave it to her. She takes it off with her scarf to prevent smudging off any fingerprints.
The shopkeeper says that it might have been brought there in the past few days, since he does not remember seeing it. Jason pays him $400 for the anklet. Ashley tries to ask Ted out on Sunday, but he says he is busy on Sundays. He tells her he is an associate pastor for the church. Ashley realizes that she has made a terrible mistake. Toby is suspicious of Hanna's sudden invitation. He wants to know why they are even there. Hanna admits that it is, 'in a way', related to Caleb. Toby leaves a message for Spencer, asking her to explain why she and Hanna lied to him.
September 2011 - Garretts charges for Alison's murder are dismissed as the blood on the anklet doesn't match his blood
September 2011 - Charlotte DiLaurentis moves to Rosewood and returns under her old alias, CeCe Drake. Aria, Spencer, and Emily hear "CeCe" use a quote Alison would always say. "CeCe" overhears them and approaches them. She introduces herself as one of Alison's friends and said Alison told her about all of them. After leaving, the Liars note how alike Alison and "CeCe" are and debate whether it was "CeCe" that looks and acts like Alison or vice versa.
Spencer finds "CeCe" in an old yearbook online. Toby Cavanaugh arrives and asks her why she lied about somebody "hounding" Hanna at the church dance. She tells him she was with Jason looking into Garrett's case and the anklet. He reminds her that at one point she thought he was guilty and that evidence can be deceptive. Nate tells Emily he has a date coming up with Jenna. Jenna told him the two of them were good friends, and that she knew Maya, whom she apparently drove to school a couple times.
September 2011 - Kenneth DiLaurentis moves back to Rosewood. Jason reveals to Emily that his father lives in an apartment building in Rosewood indicating that he still lives in town every now and then.
September 2011 - Mona recruits Toby to the A-Team A disappointed-sounding Mona, back in the nurse's outfit with the alter ego "Ali Dee", is seen walking back to Radley with a black-hooded member of the A-Team. She says she would have stayed in Radley if she knew Nate was going to get Garrett out of jail. She says to the member that they need to get Maya's phone from Paige, and that it should be easy because Paige doesn't even know she has it. With disappointment, Mona says "It sucks that we didn't get to make that phone call. Ring ring? 'What's Paige doing with Maya's cell phone? OMG, she must be the killer.' Oh, well. Even the best laid plans go awry." She says to the member, "I'll see you soon." She goes into the sanitarium. The "A-Team" member turns around, and it is revealed to be Toby. He jogs down the street and out of sight.
September 2011 - Toby and Spencer kiss and then have sex. Afterwards, they go downstairs and Toby says he didn't take the job to get away from Spencer. He says "I love you" and Spencer says it back. Toby leaves. Crying, Spencer calls Hanna and says she is "so ready for this to be over." Mona goes to "A's" lair. She walks up to an "A" member, or possibly "A," who is sitting in a chair, and says "Change of plans." Caleb takes the gun out of Hanna's drawer and puts it back in his backpack. Nate and Emily arrive at the inn. The three girls and Caleb go to Ali's grave. Caleb hides with the bag, but leaves the girls with a sound recorder in case of "A."
September 2011 - Lyndon puts his arm around Emily as they walk through town as if they are an item. Emily has to tell him the kiss didn't change anything and that they can only be friends. Later, Lyndon flags down Hanna at school because he is looking for Emily. He mentions Emily sending him mixed signals and Hanna lays it out for him that Emily is gay and he needs to accept it. Then Hanna accidentally lets it slip that Jenna had been pretending to be blind. Lyndon yells at Jenna that he knows she saw him as Jenna gets into a car.
Lyndon invites Emily to spend the weekend with him and his/Maya's family, and takes her to the Lighthouse Inn. While Emily is alone, she goes through Lyndon's overnight bag and finds the letter he had promised to deliver to Maya's parents. Before she can question it, he returns and lets her know that Maya's parents won't be arriving until the following day due to the storm. While Lyndon is starting a fire in the fireplace, Emily notices his shoes are streaked with neon paint. She remembers seeing that image before and scrolls through her phone, finding a picture of Maya at True North with those same shoes in the shot. She says she wants to take a walk. Lyndon offers to accompany her, but she declines. She searches for a signal to call for help, but Lyndon pops up. He takes her back inside.
Lyndon reveals himself to be Lyndon James, Maya's stalker. He has Paige tied up and gagged in the closet and drags her out with the intention of killing her in front of Emily, so Emily feels the pain he felt when she took Maya away. When Emily gets the opportunity, she runs and heads up to the top of the lighthouse looking for cell reception. Lyndon chases her there and they struggle for the knife he had lifted from Maya's bag in What Lies Beneath. Emily manages to grab it and in the heat of battle, stabs Lyndon in the stomach.
Caleb shows up at this moment wielding a gun, which he puts down in order to give Emily a hug. Offscreen, Lyndon, dying from his injury, gets up, grabs the gun and shoots Caleb. Viewers only see the flash of the gunshot. When the authorities arrive, we see a body being wheeled into an ambulance. Emily confirms that Lyndon is dead.
September 2011 - The Liars see Garrett and Veronica Hastings walk in. Veronica walks over to the girls and apologizes for what Emily experienced. However, she says that thanks to Emily, Garrett is a free man. The girls get a five-way call from A, yet again in a distorted voice, saying: "Emily, I owe you one." Emily looks up at Garrett, who smiles in return.
October 2011 - "CeCe" attempts to make nice with Jason who she used to date. When she gets pushed back, she mocks his former drinking problem, and he tells her, “You and Alison deserve each other.” Why would he talk about his dead sister in the present tense
Shana may have made a lot of mysterious calls from her post at the Halloween shop, but after she left one day, “A” snuck in and stole the security camera footage. Clearly, Shana wasn’t in on the plan. All the calls Shana has been making are with Jenna. Jenna and Shana had a secret friendship together.
'A' came in the shop at night, and deleted a clip with Red Coat or Vivian Darkbloom on. It's Red Coat, and not Vivian, or else 'A' wouldn't had deleted the clip.
Not only will “A” be on the Halloween ghost train, but it looks like he or she might kill someone on it. Later, on the Ghost Train, 'A' or The Queen Of Hearts killed Garrett.
After seeing her missed calls, we notice that Shana and Paige (Lindsey Shaw) are in touch.
Whoever is still wearing those hideous baby monster costumes is also trading information with Lucas. Is it the “A” team, or another, more sinister group? We later find out that Mona was blackmailing him.
When Shana asks Noel about his Halloween plans, he says that he won’t be doing his annual Kahn house party this year because he has “bigger plans.” Do those plans include torturing the Liars on the ghost train?
Shana has an Alison connection - We learn early on that Shana has a connection to Alison. As fans will recall, Alison had luggage tags from “Hilton Head” in South Carolina in a flashback in Season 1, Episode 12: “Salt Meets Wound.” Shana grew up in South Carolina.
And they’re leaving creepy, breathy messages.
He may have just been exonerated for two murders, but Garrett still has his schoolboy crush to deal with. He’s looking for her, and we have a feeling he’ll find her in the Halloween episode.
'A' admires a blonde wig that resembles Alison's hair then stops the video to admire CeCe; possibly because she looks like Alison or A is somebody who knows "CeCe". It could have possibly been Jason since Red Coat may be wearing a blonde wig.
October 31, 2011 - Then it shows Aria and Ezra. Aria is about to try on her costume, only for Ezra to reveal he won't be able to make it to the Train, because he has an interview. Aria is saddened, but understands, and then trick or treaters ring the doorbell. Aria gets up saying "Night of the living pre-schoolers." and answers the door. The camera now focuses on Ezra, he seems to be thinking something over. Later, everyone is waiting for the train to arrive, and Lucas takes pictures of Hanna, calling her beautiful. Hanna smiles, and says thank you. Hanna meets up with Aria. Spencer then arrives with Toby. Before she leaves to join the girls, shes says to him, "If you need me, whistle...you know how to whistle, don't you?" a reference to the film To Have and Have Not, where a main character Marie says something similar. Later, as the girls are talking to Noel, he begins to choke on something. Everyone starts to get concerned, but it ends up being a prank. Jenna starts laughing at the joke, but Toby and the girls are not impressed. Emily arrives with Paige. Spencer spots Jason, and alerts the girls. Spencer begins to approach him, but then thinks better of it. Everyone starts to board the Ghost Train.
The same person with the white mask and cape begins to try to talk to Hanna again, following her outside of the train car. Hanna plans to teach them a lesson, and the masked figure wonders why they ever thought Hanna would need protection revealing themselves to be Caleb. They begin to kiss. Aria is sitting alone at a table, when Adam Lambert starts to talk to her asking if she came alone. Aria says her boyfriend couldn't make it and tries to tell him her name, but a train goes by next to them and it is too loud for him to hear so she spells it out on the window. Adam says he has to go back to perform again, and asks if she's going to be in the front when he's singing. Aria says she will. A person in a Queen of Hearts costume with red long fingernails opens a compartment in their ring revealing white powder. When Aria isn't looking, the person puts the powder in her drink.
Spencer is still walking around the train, when the person in the Baby zombie costume from "The First Secret" starts to cover her mouth, and then throws her in the door, closing it. The person is Garrett Reynolds he attempts to live up to his promise to Spencer Hastings but is interrupted by Toby Cavanaugh. Then on the Ghost Train, he confronts Spencer and tells her that he had always had feelings for her and wanted to protect her. He tells her he pretended to hit Alison DiLaurentis twice with Spencer's old hockey stick but instead hit a tree behind her. However, he told Jenna Marshall that he "took care of it". He then tells Spencer that he came back and saw Aria's father, Byron Montgomery with Alison, Alison threatens Byron, (most likely talking about his affair with Meredith), Byron tells her "You say all of these grown-up things, yet you're still a child." Alison laughs and says "You know what I'm capable of," Garrett makes a noise, and Alison and Byron look, then Garrett runs off.
After finishing his story, Spencer tells him to stay put while she gets Aria, to hear about her father and Alison being together. But before he can reveal anything else, Garrett is shot dead and murdered (Off-screen) by Darren Wilden who was working alone (With the help of a blackmailed Melissa Hastings) and dressed up as Queen of Hearts because he had discovered that the latter was a dirty cop and was going to expose him. His body is then put in a box with Aria, who is horrified to see him dead. His body is discovered by The Liars when they rescue Aria.
November 2011 - Mona is released from Radley. Being forced to go back to Rosewood High by her parents, she visits Hanna and pleads for forgiveness. At school, people make fun of her and avoid her, with only Jason having a good attitude towards her. Then, with the creepy Janitor on the loose, Caleb uncovers a secret...Mona was never forced to go back to school, in fact, she begged to return. Soon after she gained back a minor amount of popularity with a crying out video. She is shown looking at Meredith towards the end of the episode...who ends up falling into an "A" trap.
November 2011 - We next see Hanna walking to the interview. when she looks at herself in the window she sees a blonde girl with the Vivian Darkbloom red coat on watching her, when she turns around the blonde girl is gone. When Hanna walks in the store the lights go out and we see "A" running past. Hanna runs from "A" as they both go through mazes of Mannequins. "A" hides behind one and knocks Hanna down and drops the key. After "A" leaves, Hanna gets a text that says "Next time you'll be faceless" and she picks up the key.
November 2011 - Alison returns to Rosewood for the fourth time after Meredith drugged Aria. Aria is sick with the flu and groggily wakes up and sees Alison going through her closet and pulling out Ali's old doll that has the diary entries of Byron in them. She says "Taking back what's mine" and sits on Aria's bed. Aria asks her if what she wrote in her diary is true. Alison tells her she will tell her, but she might not believe her. Ali tells that she was desperate for the money. Aria is shocked, and asks how could she do that. Ali says she never called her mom, and she just wanted the money. Aria also asks if Byron murdered her, and Ali smiles replying "Do I look dead to you?" Ali decides to leave the doll and notes, and right before she leaves she says "You know why I picked you right?" Aria shakes her head, and Ali mysteriously winks and leaves.
Aria runs and opens the door...but no one is there. Byron tells Aria, Hanna, and Emily that he did not kill Alison, and what happened the night he and Ali talked. Byron tells her he doesn't have the money and, failing to reason with her, he leaves. She furiously yells "You've made your bed, Mr. Montgomery!"
November 6, 2011 - Toby stops by Spencer's house during his break at work to give her flowers for their anniversary. They kiss as she thanks him for bringing her something. When she goes over to the sink to put them in a vase, Toby sees a key that has an "A" on it and he questions her about it. Spencer says that they are Melissa's, because she has a storage unit. They kiss again and say "I love you", because he has to go back to work.
Later that night, Spencer calls Toby to make sure he is okay because there was a storm coming in. He tells her that he'll make it home before it really hits. But he isn't going home because thinking that Spencer is not home, Toby sneaks into her house as A to grab the key. To his surprise, Spencer is home with the key in her hand because she figured out he was A due to the Radley card she saw. She slaps him for betraying her, but before either of them can say anything else, her mom comes home and Toby flees. Spencer finds out Toby is part of the A-Team
November 2011 - Ezra learned of Malcolm's existence (him "son") and sets off to meet him at the end of the episode.
Malcolm and Maggie are forced to move into Ezra's Apartment, after Dianne sells their condo in Delaware. Malcolm seems to be bonding well with Ezra and plays with a train set with his father and Aria. Later on in the episode Aria babysits Malcolm and he falls while jumping on the bed, getting a cut on his chin.
November 2011 - When Jason starts to empty and throw it out, Emily gets a text from "A" "You better tell him to save a couple, he might need it" and Emily looks around worried. At Jason's dad new loft, they start to unpack boxes to look for the picture. When Emily asks who would do that he says Alison would but she can't beyond the grave. Emily tells him that she knows he thinks of Mona as a friend but she would do something like that since she has pulled stunts like that for 2 years. But Jason says that she is a link to the answer of who dug up Alison's remains and that he is getting closer. Emily finds the box and sees a picture of Alison on the boat. Alison isn't the only one on the boat, she is with Wilden and CeCe (who lied about knowing who he is) and Jason says maybe she was meeting him herself
When they are leaving, the elevator stops as their phones have no signal. Jason manages to open the elevator and tells Emily to climb down but Emily if frightened. Jason tells her she can do it and she succeeds, but when she tries to get Jason out, the elevator closes and drops down; damaging Jason. At the Hospital, Jason informs Emily that the photo is gone and Emily goes to get some water. Aria and Hanna who are closely followed by Spencer show up after getting Emily's S.O.S. and Emily tells them about the picture. The doctor comes back and asks them where Jason is. The group returns back to his room only to find his bed empty.
