Pretty Little Liars Wiki

I've been giving Faran shit all summer. Poking fun at her for being jacked. Like somehow that would make her less attractive. Like that's even possible. I tried to make her feel weak like she could never be as strong as the boys. Me included. The truth is, I respect you. You don't take shit from anyone, including me.

Greg Mantzoukas[2] is a major supporting character in the first season and a main character in the second season of television series, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin on Max. He is portrayed by Elias Kacavas.

Greg is Karen's picture-perfect boyfriend by day. By night, they share a secretly tumultuous relationship echoing that of Karen’s own parents.

Biography

Greg presumably grew up in Millwood and began attending the local high school. His status as one of the leaders of the jocks and the star player of the football team lead him to start dating Karen Beasley, similarly the most popular girl at school and the undisputed queen bee. Despite the appearance as a classic American sweetheart couple, her narcissism and obsession to be in control has led to a volatile point in their relationship. Nonetheless, Greg continued to date Karen, presumably out of reluctance.

Personality

Greg is the classic American jock on the superficial surface: arrogant that bordered on cocky, bold that was truly showy and flirtatious with hints of misogyny. A true "dudebro", he is a leader of a gang of Millwood jocks that share his obnoxious, sexist, and egotistical traits. Particularly, his interactions with girls around him show an alarming disregard to personal space or boundaries, preferring to shamelessly make his move without concern to her wellbeing or comfortableness. Nonetheless, Greg demonstrates a high self-esteem, which if not obvious enough, is shown when he refuses to be ordered about by the authoritative Karen. He does have a protective nature and tried to protect his girlfriend and her friends during The Trial, which got him shot.

Greg has limited knowledge of how his words and actions are wrong. He throws insults that are derogatory, such as calling Henry gay, without care of the repercussions or knowledge of how harmful his words can be. This often gets him into trouble with Faran, who accuses him of not knowing "when to shut the hell up". It wasn't until Faran called him out at Redemption House for being harmful toward the gay community that Greg realized he didn't want to hurt anyone, especially his gay cousin. He rejected Redemption House, broke up with Kelly, and helped Faran and her friends instead. He has a combination of a mischievous, immature, and attentive personality.

Physical Appearance

Greg is a tall and muscular teenager. He has short dirty blonde hair parted in the middle and hazel eyes. He usually wears casual clothes but almost always wears his Millwood High School team jacket. During summer, he ditches the jacket and opts for sleeveless shirts, shorts, and sandals. He wears sneakers occasionally, and dresses nicely when he attends meetings at Our Mother of Holy Grace. While on duty at the Millwood Community Pool, Greg wears a swimsuit, tank top, and a red lifeguarding whistle around his neck.

Relationships

Romances

Karen Beasley - The majority of their relationship is unknown including how they started to date, but it was extremely unhealthy. Greg kissed Imogen at Karen's March Party after having sex with Karen for the fist time, When she found out, she drunkenly ranted about how sexually unsatisfied he left her. Greg admitted he always liked Kelly more then Karen when they were bonding over their shared grief for the complicated girl, leading Greg to move on with Kelly. People like Faran initially saw this as Greg substituting Karen for Kelly.

SS-202 SC (56)

Kelly Beasley - (Gelly) Greg was originally Karen's boyfriend, who took the brunt of her verbal abuse. After Karen was killed, Greg and Kelly grew closer in their grief and realized their buried feelings for one another. Greg admitted he always liked Kelly more then her twin. Their relationship culminated in a kiss at Imogen's party, which Kelly brushing it off as being a way of grieving her sister. They became a public couple soon after and she took Karen's place as queen of the school. Greg and Kelly became a sturdy couple after this, with him supporting her through the "A" trauma and the death of her father. She convinced him to attend a few church meetings with her in the hopes it would bring them closer, as his skepticism became a problem.

SS-207 Myrant Kiss

Faran Bryant - (Myrant) A classic enemies to lovers tale, Faran initially couldn't tolerate Greg as he was an extension of the popular and cruel Karen Beasley. He was misogynistic, sexist, and ran with a group of jocks that thought casual racism was funny. Faran accepted him as Kelly's boyfriend and an extended member of her friend circle after he tried to save them from The Trial, even being pleasant with him in public. Things began to change over the summer of 2023, when Faran became buff and competitive against the boys in her class. Greg went toe-to-toe with her and they had sharp banter. It was understood they didn't like each other very much, with Faran even punching Greg when he dissed her than-boyfriend. Despite their problems, Greg grew to respect Faran position as lifeguard captain, even helping her get back at a negligent and sexist Stringbean. They had some flirtatious moments. He admitted in a Kairos session of Our Mother of Holy Grace that he only gave Faran shit because he had a crush on her, seeing her as beautiful and someone to admire. He didn't realize how juvenile that was until now. When Faran saw his involvement in Redemption House, she lashed out by asking if he really believed all of this or was just doing it for Kelly. Her words got through to Greg, who realized his harmful actions and quit the play, which meant a lot to Faran. He helps her and her friends raid Redemption House, then visits her after to make sure she's okay. They kissed for the first time and went on a date soon after.
