Spencer Hastings

After Hanna's abduction, Spencer and Caleb hits a rocky patch as Caleb's overwhelming feelings for Hanna takes over his actions and motivations, which eventually leads to Spencer breaking things off with him. Meanwhile, after Rollin's death after Hanna runs him over, the Liars hatch a hasty plan to bury him in the woods and hiding the incident from the cops. Spencer convinces the Liars that they cannot go to a police confessing to the fact that they have just commited a first degree murder. While working on their alibi for the night, Spencer's downward spiral continues as she gets drunk and hooks up with Detective Marco Furey in the Radley elevator. With new information coming to light about Rollin's actual identity, Spencer starts to investigate his connection to Mary Drake and Jenna Marshall along with her friends. She maintains her friendship with Toby, while getting close to Marco. When the Liars begin to suspect Noel, it is discovered by Spencer and Emily that Noel drenched Spencer in fake blood while they were in the dollhouse, which led Spencer to assume that Charlotte made her hurt someone back in the early days after getting away from the dollhouse. Later, at an abandoned blindschool, the Liars are ambushed by Jenna and Noel and Spencer ends up getting shot. Mary Drake finds Spencer on the floor, her shoulder bleeding, and assures her that she would never hurt her as she is her mother. Before Spencer could react to the news, she becomes unconscious and is wheeled into the hospital. About a week later, Veronica returns home from her victory cruise and is confronted by Spencer. Veronica confirms that biologically Spencer is indeed the daughter of Mary Drake and Peter Hastings. In the meantime, A.D. delivers a game board for the Liars to play and threatens to reveal the truth about Rollins to the police should they refuse to play. Spencer goes first and is rewarded with a letter from Mary and a puzzle piece. Since learning about her true parentage, Spencer has been on a hunt to find Mary, who has gone into hiding after the blind school incident and enlists Marco on her mission to find her birth mother, which eventually leads to the two of them starting to date.
