Sidney "Sid" Haworthe[1] is a main character in the television series, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin on Max. She is portrayed by Sharon Leal and Kristen Maxwell.
Sidney is Tabby's mother and our main Pretty Little Liar matriarch. Sidney has become a real estate agent and a single mother, doing her best to provide for her daughter, as well as Imogen. Sidney was part of a clique of popular girls led by Davie Adams. Together, they created the original sin that spurred the actions of the anonymous A.
Biography[]
Sidney was born and raised in Millwood, Pennsylvania. She was a popular and beautiful teenager who hung out with the most popular girls in school, including Davie Adams, Elodie Honrada, Marjorie Olivar, and Corey Bryant. They "adopted" the town outcast Angela Waters into their friend group, turning her from a loser to a popular girl.
Personality[]
As a teenager, Sidney was the warmest of the group with a warm, compassionate and bubbly side. She was the first to think of Angela Waters' feelings and held deep remorse for her actions. However, she didn't have enough strength to stand up to Davie and often participated in the humiliation of Angela.
Over twenty years later, Sidney has matured immensely from the follower she used to be. She is a confident real estate agent who loves her daughter deeply, doing everything she can to protect her and be there for her. There is a wall between them that stems from Sidney's high school regrets. Though through Tabby's persistent pushing, they bridge the gap and become closer than ever. Sidney remains extremely generous, willing to take-in Imogen after Davie's death as a way of honoring her friends wishes.

Season 1[]
September 28th, at the Haworthe house, Tabby compliments how good her mother Sidney looks, asking if she has a date later. Sidney brushes it off and asks what she wants for dinner. Tabby tells her she’s working late, a trend Sidney has begun to notice as if she doesn’t want to be in the house. Tabby, however, says she wants to give Imogen space to grieve. Upstairs, Imogen tearfully looks through her mother’s picture book. She composes herself before she heads downstairs, where Sidney brightly bids her good morning. Imogen says she couldn’t sleep last night after sniffing brownies at 5 am. Sidney asks if she’s sure she wants to go to school, but Imogen is determined as she wants to distract herself and her mother would’ve wanted to. Sidney replies she would’ve done anything for her mom, flashing back to her reaction as she stared at Angela’s body occurring. Tabby offers to walk Imogen and pick up the keys to Imogen’s insistence. Tabby finally arrives home, once again late as Sidney notices. Tabby lies that she was taking inventory but that Wes gave her a ride. She tells her mother she ate and has a lot of homework. Tabby locks the door to her room. Connecting the thumb drive to her phone, Tabby plays her hidden footage of the boys in the locker rooms, some stark naked. She takes vigorous notes.
September 30th, Sidney demands answers from Tabby, who admits they didn't do it. Karen's posters were already trashed when they got to school. She thinks Karen did it since she's a psycho like Jawbreaker. They are just the scapegoats. Sidney believes her.
Season 2[]
The Haworthe's and Imogen exchange gifts. Imogen is touched by the diary Tabby gives her, while Tabby is thrilled with the directors slate from Imogen. They are both looking forward to a clean slate this year. Their peace is disturbed by a frantic phone call from Kelly Beasley, who warns that everyone is dead. A has escaped from police custody, murdered her dad, and is on the loose. Imogen looks over her shoulder at her crying daughter.
Everyone gathers in the Haworthe house as Deputy Maroon updates them on the case. Faran judges Maroon for letting A escape, as it's her single most important job to keep serial killers from escaping and murdering more people. Mouse wonders if they should be in a safe house or assume new identities. Maroon assures her they have everything under control, though Corey's not convinced. Maroon hopes to have A back in custody within a few hours. Imogen worries for herself and her baby. Maroon advises them to stay in lockdown until Archie is apprehended again.
A week later, Sidney answers a phone call from Deputy Maroon as everyone waits in her kitchen. She turns to relay that A has been caught - Archie Waters is in custody.
Six months later, Imogen visits her moms grave with Sidney. She remembers Davie giving her a patchwork blanket that she sewed together for the baby. In the present, Imogen kisses her fingers and presses them against the grave. She stands and thanks Sidney for accompanying her. She found a long term renter for Imogen's house. She found a pantry full of supplies and presents for the baby Imogen gave up for adoption. She wonders if this is an excuse for Imogen to see her daughter. Imogen worries that Rob and Blake don't understand the risks involved. If A escapes after the verdict there's nothing to stop him from going after Estelle. Sidney made an appointment for Imogen to see Dr. Sullivan alone. She hopes Imogen can open up to Sullivan the way she does with Davie. It might make her feel better, calmer even.[2]
A week later, Sidney comes home from a run and questions who Christian is, since he's sitting on her couch. Tabby intervenes and introduces him as her coworker who she's hanging out with.[3]
On the twelfth, Tabby and Imogen are having breakfast when Sidney comes in from her run. They ask her where Sidney found Dr. Sullivan again. She got the referral through Deputy Maroon, who said there was no one more experienced with adolescence trauma. She questions if the girls have appointments that morning. Imogen claims it's only her after school for refills on her meds.[4]
After learning Our Mother of Holy Grace is renting Imogen's old house to host Redemption House, the girls call Sidney during a break from school. They question if she rented Imogen's old house to the church. Sidney denies this as she rented it to an LLC. Imogen doesn't want Tabby to say anything, so she tells her mom they aren't sure what's going on but asks Sidney to look into it before hanging up.[5]
Late one night, the girls burst into the Haworthe house, finding Sidney on the couch drinking wine. Tabby demands to know why her mom isn't picking up the phone. Sidney reassures her that the phone is charging in the question, asking them what's wrong. Imogen makes light of the situation by blaming it on Tabby making them watch too many scary movies. Sidney wishes they would watch a nice rom-com for a change. She thanks Tabby for the lovely flowers and recites the sweet note - "I love you more than life itself". Tabby looks across the room to a bouquet of roses on the mantle.
Tabby paces in her room as she believes Sidney is a target now. Mouse thinks they should tell Sidney about Bloody Rose, but Faran disagrees as this seems like another "keep your mouth shut or else" moment. Noa wonders who they can trust. Tabby insists they can only trust each other and themselves.
In the morning, Sidney shouts for Imogen and Tabby to get downstairs right away. They come running down the stairs. Sidney is in the living room with the TV on. A news anchor is reporting a prison riot at the Ravenswood Penitentiary, which the girls identify as the prison where A is being held. There are several fatalities including Archie Waters, the person behind the Millwood Massacres. Sidney turns off the TV as the girls are uneasy over A dying like that. Sidney relays their suspicions are shared by Deputy Maroon, who is driving out to make sure Archie is truly dead. Sidney tells the girls to stay in touch, be home before dark, and be extra careful. Tabby tells her mom to do the same. A loud knock and ring of the bell makes them all jump - it's Kelly.
When Tabby is kidnapped by Wes and Bloody Rose for The Reckoning, she refuses to participate in their film any longer. She's not giving him what he wants. No more screams, tears, or fear. She's not giving him the big, amazing final girl performance for his fucked-up shitty joke of a movie. He is sure she will with the right motivation. The monitors behind her begin playing live footage of a proxy outside Sidney's bathroom window. Tabby panics as she shouts out for her mom. Wes tells her to listen very carefully. There are seven of his proxies stationed outside her house. One text from him and they'll break in. Tabby escapes by jumping out a window. She proceeds to take down the proxies and Wes, emerging victorious and saving her mom.[6]
